This is a discussion on Who is the 2nd best RB in College football within the North American Sports forums, part of the Sports Forums category; I'm sure the consensus here will be that Adrian Peterson is the best, but at the request of Freak, I've ...

Your guy is McFadden, we already know that. Some other guy, before the boards changed over, took exception to that and listed about 10 guys he'd take over McFadden.
Am I allowed to say Michael Bush?
Actually, I'll just say Marshawn Lynch. I'd be delighted if he fell into GB's lap next April.
Adrian Peterson is the second best. I think Steve Slaton is the most complete back right now. o_O Adrian is good yes but Steve Slaton is what I call a game-changer. Adrian is the every-down back and that's what he is phenomonal at. To me at least Adrian might even be third behind a HEALTHY mind you Michael Bush. But Michael is truly more injury prone than a fat guy on stilts. Also Kenny and Kenneth and Marshawn rank up there so truthfully it's a toss up.>_>

wait are you saying Magic Johnson is black, has AIDS and has it better than ME?
Nah dude, I have a bonafide man-crush on Steve Slaton, but Adrian Peterson is just dominant in every regard. He has the breakaway speed to change games (even if it's not on par with Slaton's), and even better than that, he's powerful, consistent, smart, and possesses all those intangibles that make a great running back.
That said, I do kind of get what you're saying, on a purely college-football-level; in terms of pro-style RBs, though, Peterson is unmatched since perhaps Tomlinson.
I think Slaton is the second best right now. He is just a sophomore though. He should be even better next year.

Ahmad Bradshaw is going to be a good running back next year in his senior season as well.
I predict a breakout year for him.

Ok well, I'm not rating these guys on a pro level.. I'm just going by what they've done in college and I believe McFadden is the 2nd best, it's true.
What I like the most about Darren is how he's carried Arkansas on his back this season to the point they're at right now. He's been a machine. He's ran the ball and ran it extremely well against the likes of alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, and South Carolina. There's no other back in college right now outside of Adrian Peterson that has gone up against the same quality of defenses and mauled the competetion quite like he has.
Keep in mind, he's got LSU and Florida left on the schedule and that's another two defenses that rank near the top in the nation.
