Something I forgot to bring up prior to the Reid signing with the Chiefs, was the GM leaving. I feel that a decent part of his reasoning behind it would be the suicide that occurred with their player.

Chip Kelly no longer a candidate for the Browns job per ESPN Bottomline.

Wow, that's interesting. I guess Philly is the only other place.

I thought all along he'd sign with the Eagles. Love the Marrone signing for the Bills.

Regarding the direction KC takes with a QB, it really depends on how Reid sells ownership on where the team is at. If they are rebuilding and a few years away from being legitimately competitive, then drafting a project and papering over the position for the moment might be sufficient. If Reid sold them on being close - which would make sense, as they are paying him a ton of money - then they need to find a solution that is going to deliver ASAP. Someone like Alex Smith might be the best option.
Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, and RG3 have all been massively successful as rookies. That does not make it the norm. All three were also elite QB prospects. Then again, JaMarcus Russell wasn't far removed from that level, so.... You are just as likely or more likely to get something like Christian Ponder, Mark Sanchez, Nick Foles, or Blaine Gabbert if you draft a QB and try to star them from day one.
