The Cowboys

They're ranked in the top five in total offense and defense and average 27.9 points per game.

Why are they 4-4?

They've done themselves in with mistakes not expected from a Parcells-coached team. The offense turns the ball over too much, the defense gives up too many big plays and the Cowboys lead the league in penalty yards.

Owens has put them through all sorts of shenanigans: A preseason hamstring injury; a fine for being late to work; a broken hand; a night in the hospital caused by an accidental overdose; an argument with his position coach; complaints about not getting the ball enough; sleeping in team meetings and several drops, including a sure touchdown in Washington.. All these things are a distraction to the rest of the team. They need to concentrate on playing football, rather than what T.O. is going to do next. They aren't focused.

As jayman said, turnovers are probably a big part of it. I'm too lazy to look it up, but I'm sure they've got to be among the most turnover-prone teams in the NFL.

Plus, they've had some shitty luck, like the Redskins game

yeah but most of the turnovers were because bledsoe. romo was picked off 3 times his first time against ny, but now he has only been picked off once.

Okay, but you asked why they were 4-4. Yes, go ahead and blame it all on Bledsoe then.

Well is it because of Bledsoe?

Take away the washington game, it could of gone either way. Luck was not with the cowboys on that one.

If Romo started the season wouldl the boys be 6-2?

Well, Dallas is middle of the road in turnovers, but they are 3rd in INTs. That probably has a lot to do with it.
