No, I'm a huge Owens fan but even I say he should have caught it. the ball was right in his hands. You can also say that the o-line should have blocked better on the FG attempt or they shouldn't have gotten a 15-yard penalty on the blocked kick return..

By the way, it wasn't a 15-yard facemask, it was a 5.. Ref blew the call.

Aren't the Cowboys among the leaders in most penalties as well? It seems like they've had a ton of costly penalties.

Thanks slim for the look. But ya now as I take a quicker look at it and see more and more pictures he should had that catch. The O line could be blamed but I don't blame them becuase its a hard play to complete. It would be much easier to blame the O line if Romo was pressured or sacked but he was only pressured a bit and really didn't screw much up, owens did.

Also Blade I probally rewinded it and fowared it on my tivo about 20 times to look if it was indeed a rough 15-yard facemask but like you said it was not even close to being rough and should have only been 5 yards. I see alot of blown calls this season.

Cowboys are second place behind the vikings.

as far as the call on the facemask..

The rule is, if they just touch the facemask it is a 5 yarder, but if they grab it, and if the players head moves at all it is a 15 yarder...

I wouldnt say he grabbed onto the mask and made his neck turn around and make a potentail injury accur but I also wouldn't say he just tapped it. He go a pretty good hit to the mask the player just kept on running.

The referees lost the game for the cowboys or did the cowboys lose the game for themself you think?

well I would say a little bit of both.

The refs cant be wrong on every call. The Cowboys have got to stop beating themselves. It's becoming to be like, after every play I am looking for a yellow flag. Hopefully they can turn it around the second half.

Ya slim I would have to agree with you and say its a little both.

The cowboys could have easily put it out reach with a few plays not exacuted but then on the other hand the refs could have called a block in the back in the fourth quarter when they got that big dump pass and the game deciding facemask play.

Seriously the cowboys have to good of a team and coaching staff to be below 500 and be in trouble of not making the playoffs. I am hoping and praying we see a big turn around in the second half of the season.

Well, I didnt see the final play, but if it wasn't the 15-yard variety of the face mask penalty, then the Cowboys did get screwed.

Just as I like to point out when the refs blow a call against my team, I'm more than willing to accept it when it affects a division rival.

I hate when people say "It's part of the game". Well, it shouldn't be. If we start accepting referee errors, especially egregious ones at the ends of games, then refs will have no incentive to get better. So, let's at least give the refs some blame on this one, if it was indeed a bad call (I didnt see the play, so I can't comment on it personally)

Tomm I don't think anyone could have said it any better. Big game and expecially a bad call can be the win they (cowboys) could need at the end of the season.

I would love to see them pull the big upset this Sunday against Payton and the Girls!
