So Sunderland grabbed a dramatic late winner against Hull on Saturday and what happened?

Ross Wallace the goal scorer gets sent off after over celebrating.

This new rule from Uefa or Fifa that has been around for a couple of seasons now is totally stupid and idiotic.

It happened last season when Arjen Robben did the same in a game against us and now its happened again.

Now surely players are allowed to celebrate a goal anyway they like without being cautioned for it.

Its taking away some of the excitement of football because what is the point is scoring if you then have the possibility of a booking if you want to celebrate.

This is what is killing football at the moment as things that have gone on since football was invented are being taken and messed around with.

The players know the rule so they shouldnt do it

You can't blame them for celebrating though.

I mean 92nd minute we scored today and obviously he was going to celebrate a little and i just think its a joke because now we will not have him for the next game or games depending on how long he gets.

Its just a one game ban, but still its his own fault he shouldnt go to the crowd, take his shirt off rtc... im sure he's seen it many times before with other players

True but it just frustrates me the way fifa or uefa bring in this crappy rules that ruin football.

Can't help what is done so thats that.

I can understand that rule coming into force if a celebration is holding up play, because it's overly long. But at the time in the game, I think the ref could've used some common sense, and kept the card in his pocket. But then, asking common sense of FA refs is a bit of a stretch.

the rule is stupid and it really annoys me when a ref who has never scored a goal in his life gives a yellow card (sometimes a second in the match) to a player for getting cought up in the moment. take Flamini for example, he scored the first goal against liverpool, only his second goal for arsenal and he gets a yellow card for celebrating. i think it should only be a yellow if you are over celebrating and in front of the opposition fans, but when its with your own fans it should be allowed (so long as it doesnt go on too long)
