It's a good thing for the Giants and their fans that Brandon Jacobs is so fucking awesome, and hopefully will fill Barber's shoes admirably

Everytime I watch a Giants game (which is alot since they play them quite a bit in our TV market) I am more and more impressed with Jacobs everytime I see him.

He looks like a linebacker. He is fast and barrels through people. I love that style running back.

This was postd on the Tampa Bay Bucs message board. Shows the kind of respect people have for Tiki...

I'm torn between who I want to win this game........ kind of.

Of course I want my Bucs to win the game........but is that really going to do anything for us down the road this season? I doubt anyone here actually thinks we're a superbowl contender this season..... if they do......you're in for a rough season.

That said........ the Giants could very well go all the way.....and more importantly........this is Tiki's final season.

Why do I care about that? I'll tell you why. I want Tiki to have a ring.......
I want him to have a ring.......because I want to see Ronde on the Giants sidelines when his brother does this...........just as Tiki was on our sidelines when we took it all the way.

That shot of Tiki hugging his brother after we won the Championship is vividly and forever etched in my mind. I almost view Tiki as a Buc because of it.........because he was with us all the way. And that's cool........because his team was out of contention............kind of just like ours is.

Bottom line......if we can't have it.........and we cant this year........I sure would like to see Tiki go out with a ring........and have his mother and Ronde on the sidelines just as they were for us.

The good news in all of this, I guess, is we could still win this game.....as the Giants have a pretty dayum good shot at going all the way, even if they lost to us Sunday.

Anyone see Michael Irvin call Tiki a quitter? That was kinda weird.. I'm not sure what kinda crack he was smoking before he went on tv that day.

I can't possibly root for Tiki. As a 49ers fan, I have to hate the Giants with a passion. Sure there might not be much of a rivalry there anymore, but when I was a kid growing up I couldn't stand New York. I ended up hating Dallas and Green Bay as well but never as much as New York.

What happend to Montana.. Ugh..

Michael Irvin is an idiot, and I'm glad Tiki called him out on it.

First of all, Tiki didn't "announce" his retirement. A reporter overheard him talking about with Ronde, Tiki asked him not to publish the story, and the reporter refused. So, rather than fight it, Tiki just rolled with it.

Secondly, unlike most NFL players, Tiki has a welath of potential opportunities outside of football, where he won't have to get drilled by 300-pound beasts 30 times a game.

Also, if Tiki is a quitter, I want Irvin to call Jim Brown and Barry Sanders quitters as well.

I dont really agree with irvin, but I also dont agree with Tiki calling anyone a idiot.

There was nothing Tiki could of done about the situation, it got out somehow. Ohh well. Not his fault. But to call someone a Idiot? Come on now. He could of handled that better.

also, I dont remember the names, but Irvin was not the only person to say anything about the situation.

Irvin was just trying to say that now mayne his teammates will feel like tiki is quitting on them. That was all.

He also called out Gary Myers of the New York Daily News and Tom Jackson of ESPN.

Maybe calling people "idiots" wasn't the right thing to do, but he makes an excellent point in that Irvin was never exactly a "character guy", and really has no right to call out somebody for a lack of leadersip. I singled out Irvin because I think he actually is an idiot, and I don't have anything against Myers or Jackson.

Also, I think it's better that Tiki tell people now, rather than do what Barry Sanders did, which is retire right before the start of training camp, without leaving his team time to adequately replace him.

I think Tiki should have made sure this didn't get public until the end of the year, but from what I've heard many of the Giants already knew he was contemplating retirement so I guess I don't agree with him being a distraction.

Irvin did bring up one good point on Mike & Mike in the Morning though. He said that if Terrell Owens would have done something similar people would have gone crazy on him, and he also said that Owens gets treated unfairly in similar type situations.

Irvin has to understand though that Owens has caused a lot of trouble before, so he's always going to be a lightning rod.
