Kemp had an MVP caliber season last year (.324 avg/39 HR/126 RBI/40 SB). He finished 3rd in the NL batting race, led the NL in HR/RBI, and just missed a 40/40 season. So I'd say he deserves money like that (8 years may be a bit much, but he had such a great year, the Dodgers couldn't really offer much less).Originally Posted by HoHo

Yeah, the Dodgers couldn't afford to offer less, because some other team would probably have offered him that amount of money if that's what his agent was looking for.
