| All U.S.A all us sport i have to day is being posted in this bit. OWENS GOING TO BECOME A COWBOY Terrell Owens has found a new home in Dallas after the Cowboys snapped up the controversial receiver on a three-year deal. The 32-year-old was only recently released by Philadelphia but did not remain a free agent for long as Dallas stepped in to secure his services. The contract will see the 10-year veteran receive $5 million for the forthcoming season, $7 million in 2007 and a further $8 million the following year. Owens' troubles with the Eagles, who he helped reach the Super Bowl in his first season with the franchise, had begun after he was denied the chance to re-negotiate his contract. He played only seven games last year before being deactivated for conduct detrimental to the team. He had caught 47 passes for 763 yards and six touchdowns. The Cowboys will be Owens' third NFL team in four years. He also played for the San Francisco 49ers where he became infamous for his post-touchdown celebrations, including one in Dallas that saw him run to the middle of the field to stand on the home team's star. Dallas have also strengthened their roster with the capture of experienced offensive tackle Jason Fabini on a three-year deal. Elsewhere in the NFL, the New York Jets traded sixth-round pick in this year's draft to get the services of quarterback Patrick Ramsey from the Washington Redskins. The move gives the Jets some insurance if starter Chad Pennington is unable to return from a serious shoulder injury. Ramsey, who lost his starting job last year to Mark Brunell after week one, started 24 games during his time in the capital, passing for 5,649 yards with 34 touchdown passes and 29 interceptions. The Atlanta Falcons upgraded their secondary by picking up Chris Crocker in a trade with the Cleveland Browns and signing free agent Lawyer Milloy, who was recently released by Buffalo for salary cap reasons. Michael Bennett has signed a two-year contract with the New Orleans Saints to be back-up to starter Deuce McAllister. The running back has spent the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings but has been hampered by a series of injuries in recent years BREES BECOMES A SAINT some more on the brees story. Two star quarterbacks joined new clubs and two high-profile receivers were released on the busiest day in the NFL's month-long free-agent signing period thus far. The New Orleans Saints signed San Diego QB Drew Brees to a six-year deal worth a reported $60 million. Brees, the NFL's comeback player of the year in 2004, passed for a career-high 3,576 yards and 24 touchdowns last season but was expendable with the Bolts having former number one draft pick Philip Rivers already tied to a lucrative contract. The 27-year-old, who is still recovering from surgery on his right shoulder, will replace Aaron Brooks, the Saints' starting quarterback for the past five years who is likely to be released. And the Miami Dolphins are close to acquiring Minnesota Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper for a second round pick in this year's draft. The move is contingent on the 29-year-old passing a team medical after he tore ligaments in his right knee in October. Culpepper signed a ten-year $102 million contract with the Vikings in 2003, quickly proving he was worth the money by throwing for 4,717 yards and 39 touchdowns to earn Pro Bowl honours. In anticipation of the deal, Miami released last year's starter, Gus Frerotte, who would have cost the team $4.38 million against the salary cap. And another veteran quarterback, Jon Kitna, is going to Detroit, according to his agent. Cincinnati are allowing the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year in 2003 to leave despite a serious knee injury suffered by starter Carson Palmer in the play-offs. Terrell Owens was predictably released by Philadelphia after he was suspended midway through last season. It ended a turbulent and controversial two-year stay in which he helped the Eagles reach the Super Bowl in 2005 but then demanded that his contract be renegotiated just one season into a seven-year $48 million deal. The outspoken wide receiver also feuded with team owners, coach Andy Reid and quarterback Donovan McNabb but on the field remains one of the NFL's elite receivers. He could be headed to Dallas after Keyshawn Johnson was cut by the Cowboys. Johnson sits 20th on the all-time reception list with 744 catches for 9756 yards and pulled in a team high 71 catches last season but will be 34 by the time next season starts. The Washington Redskins boosted their defense with the signings of St Louis safety Adam Archuleta and San Francisco linebacker Andre Carter. And the Tennessee Titans were also busy, signing New York Jets center Kevin Mawae.
