I think I've posted the link to the "Fire Joe Morgan" blog before...it's basically a bunch of guys (from Boston) who are tired of stupid things that announcers say (especially Joe Morgan). This is from Joe Morgan's last web chat on espn.com.

Anthony (Scotia,NY): Good Morning Joe, What Moves Do The Yankees Need To Make I Order To Make It To The playoffs?

Joe Morgan: The Yankees have over performed, as far as I'm concerned. With the injuries they've had, Joe Torre has done a good job of mixing and matching. They need another outfield bat, they need another outfield hitter out there.

The Yankees have about six terrible pitchers on their MLB roster right now. They have Farnsworth setting up Rivera. They have Chacon, Ponson, and Aaron Small (in the minors, just waiting for his chance to come back up and pour gas on the fire). They also have like $28 million worth of Shef-sui coming back in the next two months, and despite all of their injuries, they are 4th in MLB in runs (with three more, they’d be second). Haha. We have the Weiner Winer line in Boston. What it is, is people calling into a certain phone number throughout the day leaving messages. They play it everynight at 5:45. Needless to say over the years, quite a few characters have developed.

One of the better ones is a guy that does Tim McCarver and "The McCarver Minute" where he breaks down and anaylises things like

"The team that often has the lead in the 9th, USUALLY WINS." (emphasis on the caps)


But yeah, people slaughter the announcers here in Boston. We have the best there is in Rem Dawg and DO. Yeah baby.

Oh, I'm tired of Morgan too.. He always sticks up for the players. You know who I don't mind is David Justice on YES.. He really calls the Yanks out on shit..

BTW, did you see Steve Phillips say the Yanks have to trade A-Rod because A-Rod won't recover in New York? Is this guy fucking crazy?

A-Rod, has he underperformed? possibly.. I mean he hasn't played exactly like they mgiht want him too but jesus.. This is a guy that will end u being a top 10 player of all time and he can't recover from a slump?

Those guys also had a big running joke about how John Kruk predicted Randy Johnson would win 30 games last year, which is obviously ridiculous, since an ace pitcher only gets 34 or 35 starts a year. So, when the season was winding down they would have posts saying stuff like "Randy Johnson needs 14 wins in the Yankees last 5 games to reach Krukie's prediction of 30 wins. Let's see if he can get there"
