| NBA Hot Stove 2006 With the draft complete and who really cares about it, it was the worse draft I can ever remember... Lets discuss what's going on here in the NBA.. Ben Wallace Signs with Chicago - What a great move for the Bulls.. Wallace signed for a reported $60M which I think is a little much but he adds leadership and experience in the lockeroom and on the floor to a young Bulls squad plus his unreal defensive abilities. It also hurts the Pistons quite a bit who are division rivals. The Bulls have put themselves in a great position here, they've also added Tyrus Thomas from the draft out of LSU and next year they will probably have another top 5 pick (they switch picks with the Knicks if the Knicks finish in the lottery). They could make a play for Garnett right now, but the T'Wolves have been reluctant to take serious offers. With a roster of Wallace, Hinrich, Gordon, Nocioni, Deng, Duhon, Chandler, and Thomas, the Bulls have so many pieces to worl with it's really tremendous how they've been able to put this together so quickly. Remember just a few years back they were discussing Chandler and Curry as the future. Seems like forever ago. With Curry already out of town, Chandler is now being shopped for PJ Brown which would be another great addition for the Bulls. Pistons counter with Nazr Mohammed- Not a bad signing really and a lot less money but still, the loss of Wallace is huge. Nazr is alright on offense but in a limited role. I can see it now.. 'Sheed goes crazy, Flip throws his hands up in the air, and the Pistons struggle to get homecourt in the 1st round.. Peja signs with Hornets- What a great move Pacers. They trade Artest who completely changed the King's around into a threat in the West and they get Peja for 30 games where he barely played and now they can't sign him back. Great sign for The Hornets, Chris Paul is an awesome distributor and will find Peja in the corner for 3. Paul is really going to create havoc this year, I can see the Hornets making a huge step next season. |
