Penn St. is average if that, Oregon St. and Penn are on the same level. Soo to say Iowa has had a tougher schedule is total bullshit. They're down every game because quite frankly they're an average team in a average conference.
The fact you think Oregon State and Penn State are on the same level just proved to me you know not of what you speak.
It's true that Iowa is down every game and one day, it'll bite them on the ass. Iowa should be respected for going this far without a loss. Still, they're one of the most overrated teams because they can't prevent themselves from being down. As a matter of fact, Iowa shouldn't be ranked high in the BCS rankings. Cincinnati, TCU, or Boise State should jump them. Their first game against Northern Iowa, their game against Arkansas State, and their game against Indiana, which they scored 4 TDs in the fourth quarter from being behind 10 pts, are the main reasons they shouldn't be ranked all that high. The voters in the BCS really do want Iowa to be bowl or national championship contenders. Like I said, the team will lose if they keep this up.
Coming from a guy who is a fan of Alabama, this is pretty hilarious. First off, last I checked a win is a win. The BCS doesn't give style points, and nor should it. If it did give style points than Alabama would be even lower than Iowa.
The BCS voters should look very closely at all of the top 25 teams to look of who they won and who they lost to. USC is overrated. This year's AP poll, USC was ranked high, as usual, because the voters want to see USC back in the national championship spotlight. They can't realize of who they lost last year where some of them went to the NFL, UFL, or elsewhere. They lost to a now-3-5 team Washington 16-13, which should've dropped them in a bullshit 12th rank. Their last game against Oregon really shows how overrated USC really are. It was a clusterfuck for them. All poll act like USC will have a good season. No team can continue to dominate for so long. All poll voters should now wake the hell up and drop USC from participating in a bowl game for their huge loss to Oregon.
First off, your English is terrible. Seriously, I know you're from the south, but at least try not to butcher our fine language on a post-by-post basis. USC gets the top talent year in and year out, this is why they are consistently ranked high at the beginning of the year. I'm not defending that, but to deny that is preposterous. The pollsters at the beginning of the year have very little to judge the best teams in the nation by. Which is personally why I wish they'd wait til Week 6 or so.
The BCS voters will try their hardest to get USC to the top. This yr has been a mess, they're really isn't two dominant teams this yr therefore so many teams can have arguments. The only team I can say w/o a doubt deserves to be in the championship game is Texas. They've looked better than any team as of late and is a sure bet basically to win out. Based on THE WAY TEAMS HAVE BEEN PLAYING TODAY my top 5 would be 1. Texas 2. Florida ( had a good game this past week) 3. TCU/Cincy can't decide 4. Bama 5. Oregon/Boise
Iowa is definitely not deserving of the top 5
There is no bias in these statements whatsoever lol. I mean, I admit to being a little Big Ten bias, but at least I try to hide it a little lol. You just go all out. Especially since you can't comprehend the fact that if it's TCU/Cincy at 3, wouldn't the next one be 4? Or would they just drop out of the top 5? I'm waiting for you to have a valid non-bias point, but alas, I have this feeling it'll be waaaaaaaay after I'm dead and gone.

Shhhh. Don't tell Cincinnati fanboy.

This is like a skinhead and a kkk member agreeing. And just as funny.

TCU would be 3 this week and UC 4, I have way more respect for TCU than Iowa. Iowa consistently trails to shitty ass teams and a mediocre qb will not be able to lead the to a comeback against a top tier team. Plain & simple, Idk why you don't understand this.

STATS? You must not watch the games, if you did you'd realize a team like Michigan St. is not supposed to take a "top team" to the last play of the damn game. Or maybe a team like AZ St. I think or hell even Indiana. These are not characteristics of a team that deserves to be a championship team.

That doesn't matter, a win is a win no matter how it comes.
Good teams find ways to win, bad teams don't.
This and who is to say that Cincy wouldn't have had similar problems against those opponents? or even lost? We haven't seen Cincy face anyone of quality.. at least Boise has a win over Oregon on their resume.

There are so many things wrong with this statement I'm ashamed you even feel worthy to call yourself a 'knowledgeable' college football fan. But for shits and giggles, lets play your game.
Using individual statistics to quantify a teams performance is one of the most ridiculous things you can do. Statistics can lie in so many ways, especially once grouped together and taken out of context. Team like 'Michigan State,' I'm curious as to what this means? You act as though State is supposed to roll over and take it up the ass because they're not amongst the perceived elite in the nation. Which brings me to another point, in general team's status is based largely on perception, and aren't backed by any legitimate facts. For instance, when Michigan lost to Appalachain State, most people looked at it as a DI-AA school beating a DI-A school, as opposed the reality which was a team that's clearly above it's status beating a team who clearly overlooked them. It doesn't justify the loss, but still, without looking at contextually, and with little bias, it looks much worse than it is. Also, to me at least, 'championship quality teams' win. That's about the only quality I look for in a Championship team because ultimately, statistics are nice, but if you didn't win, stats mean nothing.
Quite clearly you lack any amount of individual thinking or rapport, which is sad. Perhaps once you lose your mindset of 'style points over results' you'll understand how absolutely retarded you sound. Alas, I doubt this will come about.

I have a feeling all of this Cinncy talk in the BCS will come to a halt after they go into Pittsburg in a few weeks....
And by then... Florida and Texas will still be undefeated. That will be your BCS championship game.
I doubt it, Pittsburgh isn't that great of a team(surprise from the Big lEast) I can see Cincinnati running the table and facing the ACC Champion(whomever that is) beating them (ACC is sooooooo inconsistent) then having to hear Cincy fans(aka #2) whine about how they were snubbed (but subsequently not whine about any other undefeated team who weren't in the Championship game)

There, now Cincinnati fanboy can stop his complaining, though I await his non-credit to a decent Northwestern team. This thread no longer interests me as #2 lacks relevant opinions, and I already know Brandon and ToL
