I think the most impressive performance I've seen was from Spain. You usually can't rely on the Spaniards but they are deep and really took it to Ukraine.. The Best match I've seen was probably Poland and Germany. The crowd, no surprise was very intense! Not that the other crowds have been dead by any stretch, but this felt like it was the final or something and wow.. did you see how many close calls there were before Germany finally put one home? I think those dirty Frenchmen should be worried. Zero goals in their last 4 World Cup games from a team that's supposed to be a powerhouse? Awesome!

Of the 10 best teams going in - Germany, Argentina, Holland, Italy, Czech Republic, France, England, Portugal, Brazil & Spain, nine of them won and one of them drew. In recent World Cup's that's not been the case. What that does mean, is that we are going to be in for them stellar quarter final matches this time (unlike last time!!)

I knew this team could play a bit, but I was shocked to see how good they actually were. It's a shame they were drawn in the same group as the Dutch and Argentines, as I could have seen them making the Quarter Finals. Spain have also impressed me. The proverbial underachievers of tournaments gone by look like their finally trying to shake off the tag. David Villa and Fernando Torres look like a good striking duo. My favourite game of the tournament so far was Japan vs. Australia. I really enjoyed this match. I never could have imagined the Auzzies scoring 3 goals in the last 5mins to crush the Japanese. Hell of a finish to a game.
