Reason Why the U.S. Soccer (Footy) team will never be great

Sure, they can make a quartr final to the World Cup.. that's fine. But will they ever really be in contention to win it all? No..

Now, you're probably thinking to yourself, we have this huge population, all these resources, we should be a soccer powerhouse and it's a failure that we aren't.. but the fact is..

Our bigger, faster, stronger, etc.. athletes all play baseball, football, and basketball in this country because they can make more money doing that and continue living here if they are successful..

Some of you may not be aware, but our athletes in the three sports mentioned, make millions and millions of dollars.. It'd take too much work for the MLS to ever sell soccer to people in this country when we already have all these huge multi-billion dollar sports that kids can play..

If soccer was ever going to be big in the States, it would have had to happen a hundred years ago.. For whatever the reason, it didn't, and now it's too late..

We'll never have a great team capable of winning it all.

This also leads me to the next thing... most Americans don't care about soccer, not because they hate the sport, but because the MLS sucks and the national team will never be great.. We have nothing to watch and nothing to root for..

Well, other nations play baseball, and basketball too.. lol.. although we created baseball..

We didn't create basketball though, contrary to what some may believe.. We just excelled at it.. Other European and South American countries are getting a lot better though..

I don't think England plays it though.. It's mostly places like Croatia, Argentina, Brazil, Yugoslavia, etc..

Basektball is played here but on a much smaller scale, Ive got to ask whi is the World Series called The World Series?

Because we are bastards. I don't know really.. I'll tell you what though, baseball has a World Cup now and the U.S. didn't win, it was I think the Dominican Republic..

Also, all the players that played in this baseball world cup were pretty much from the MLB because we pay them a lot more then anyone.. so I guess that could be a reason.. All the best players play here..

Football (soccer) will never be big in the states for two reasons, one it does not fit TV scheduling that calls for advertising every 4 minutes, two for a high level to be maintained it can only be played twice a week so can never sell as many tickets as baseball and basketball so hence forth is not as viable business-wise.
