God, I can't believe how overblown this has gotten. You think it needs its own thread, for crying out loud? Did you see how much media flooded the ice as soon as the horn sounded? And can you imagine how caught up in celebration a 21-year-old kid with as much as pressure on him as Sidney Crosby would get? If there's anyone in the league who would intentionally "snub" Nick Lidstrom, Sidney Crosby (who's as big a fan and student of hockey tradition as any captain, ever), would be the last one.

This was the best Finals I've watched in quite some time, and that was one hell of a Game 7. Huge congrats to the Pens.

Re: NHL Game 7: Penguins vs. Red Wings

Youngest to capture the Art Ross, won the Hart the same year and now the youngest to captain his team to a Stanley Cup championship. There's bound to be haters but what I find funny about it is that people who claim 'he should act like this' or that forget that they were 21-years old at one time and probably presented themselves far worse than he has over his first few years in the league. Of course he has some maturing to do.. but lets not go crazy. People complain about him like he's Chad Ochocinco or treat him as if he's reached levels of Sean Avery douchebaggery... Settle down.

Basically what it comes down to is this... Detroit is getting older (there are plenty of reasons why Crosby may not have been around: he was being bombarded with media for one!) and people dislike the fact that two of the top five players in the league are 22-years old or younger and on the same squad.

Boo-ya.

Oh..one more thing.. if you're going to make a thread about this bullshit why don't you double up the effort and make a thread about how the Detroit fans were cheering when Crosby was injured in the second period?

How about that 'class'?

No I didn't want a thread on it honestly. merely pointing out how I think it's a bigger deal that he missed it than LeBron walking off the court. I bear no ill will towards Sidney(though, he should've gotten in line quicker than he did) just as I bear no ill will towards LeBron. Just merely pointing out how it gets treated differently, and speaking of which, isn't LeBron only like 23?

I believe LeBron is 24 and what he did was a little stupid.. but I didn't care about that either.. he made a little mistake oh noez~! lets crucify him!

Bah. LeBron has been a class act since he stepped foot in the league. He's one of the real good guys the NBA has and now the media wants to pull this shit? Fuck 'em.
