Arturo Baldasano has claimed that if he wins the Real Madrid presidential election on 2 July he will install Sven-Goran Eriksson as manager.
Eriksson will step down as England boss after the World Cup and would succeed Juan Ramon Lopez Caro at Real.
"My team have spoken with Eriksson and he has given a commitment that if I win the election he will come and coach the team," Baldasano told Radio Marca.
"He's an important coach with the right kind of characteristics to do well." <!-- E SF --> Baldasano also said he wanted to bring more Spanish players into the side and that he was targeting Real Betis winger Joaquin and Arsenal forward Jose Antonio Reyes.
Lawyer and economist Baldasano lost heavily to former president Florentino Perez in the 2004 election.
The current election was called after Fernando Martin was ousted in April.<!-- E BO -->

So, would Sven make a good manager of Madrid or flop like most seem to do?

So hard to tell about Real. The club is so rotten to the core that it's hard to see things picking up there again until a strong manager is able to go in and clean the place up from the money sucking parasite players they have on their books. Sven doesn't seem like that sort of man, and the one's they have had their that do seem likely to do this get usurped by player power.

What we've got to realise here is this story is purely posturing from a guy who wants to get elected to the precidency of the club. His rival released a story yesterday that if he was elected he would sign Fabergas and Reyes from Arsenal for £30M.
Yeah - Laporta said he'd sign Beckham if he got the Barca presidency... as we all know Beckham went to Real, so i'd take these reports with a pinch of salt.
On a side note, if Laporta had got Beckham, Ronaldinho would have gone to Man Utd.
