Jacqueline Standley, 44, the mother of Yankees' pitcher Joba Chamberlain, is facing a felony charge in Nebraska after being arrested on suspicion of selling methamphetamine.
Standley allegedly sold one gram of a substance suspected to be methamphetamine to an undercover policeman. She appeared in the same courtroom where her son pleaded to a DUI charge last month. (Photo by AP/Lincoln Police Department)
Bail was set at $5,000 and she is currently out of a Nebraska jail. Standley is being represented by a public defender.
"You've only got one mom, man, and you've got to be thankful for her,'' said Chamberlain, who added that he had not talked to her for a while. "I still love her."
Standley told the Lincoln Journal Star that "my lawyer said not to talk to anybody, but I pray it all works out well."
