There isn't a huge drop-off between Moreno and Wells? Wells is not known for catching, but with Orton under center, that's exactly what he would have to do.
I'm not sure Wells would be the second best HB. They probably could've waited til the 2nd/3rd round to pick up a HB especially since they decided to pay money to Buckhalter, Arrington and Jordan in FA. While still employing the services of Selvin Young, Tatum Bell, Andre Hall and Ryan Torain, amongst others whom were effective running the ball.

None of those guys have proven(as of last season) that they can stay healthy and produce on a consistent basis. That's most likely why they have seven running backs still in case what happened last year happens again. Besides, most teams have about 4-5 backs on their roster at one time. And when it comes to backs who were NFL ready, Wells was arguably the first. Teams could have gone either way with Wells or Moreno.

Re: SS's Draft Analysis

I see Donald Brown doing better than Moreno, but I'm not sure if he'll do better than Wells.

Donald Brown looks good and is most likely in the top 3 backs of the draft. He'll do good in Indy.

But obviously adding another who hasn't either is the solution... makes perfect sense.

What are we considering "better"?

Overall better, prepare him for his future career, a better rookie season maybe. Better talented back.

22. Minnesota Vikings - Percy Harvin, WR, Florida
........... The search for a new head coach begins
No, just no. On Percy Harvin, I'm not sure it's a questionable pick in terms of ability. I watch all of the Florida Gators' games and he was definitely a cut above the competition which just so happens to be the best league in college football, the SEC. I think he's worth the gamble. Vikings needed another playmaker imo. The stupid decision was not being involved in the Cutler sweepstakes. Harvin can be utilized as a slot receiver, deep threat, return man, and even run some plays out of the backfield. He'll be fine so long as he stays away from the ganja.

He proved that in college. Of course he hasn't played for them yet, but last year he showed he is better than the rest of their RBs.

It's not a knock on Harvin really. The only issue I have with him is his "ganja" use. It's everything else they could've done with the pick ala Cutler, or Oher. Both filled more immediate needs, and would help improve the team above just adding another "threat"

College != NFL. I'd hardly say he's any more proven than what they have. When you have bigger needs (which Denver obviously did) and there's prime talent available(which there was) I don't see why you pass it up for a position that was shored up by 3 players in the off-season as well as the return of all but one of the guys you had last year. I'd say the potential for a HB injury this year exponentially decreases as last year was clearly an anomaly.

Re: SS's Draft Analysis

What do you mean I don't know what I mean? lol

Donald Brown had the most rushing yards in the nation last year. You already know he is talented. Indy will help him blossom into a NFL back. Brown can split carries with Addai. He will have a better rookie season, and maybe even a better career then Moreno.
