First, let me say that Spurs/Mavs serieswas as good as it gets and reminded me that the NBA can be a great league.. Not since the Bulls' breakup have I been this excited to watch basketball. Also, Dirk has arived.. We all knew he was a good player, last night he became great.

Now to the conference finals.. I think we are in for two competitive series.

In the East, I'm taking the Heat in 6 games. Yes, I know the Pistons are a great team with a great starting five, but I like the additions the Heat made in the offseason. Walker has been playing well and he's a tough match because of his 3 point ability although he sometimes takes too many threes.. I believe Shaq has something left in the tank and he'll be 25 and 12 in this series, if the Pistons have to double him it negates their taking away the outside shot and Miami now has guys who can hit the open three.

In the West, I like Dallas in 7 games. Yes, I think it will go the distance, and the reason being.. I believe Dallas will get too caught up in playing the Sun's run game. Dallas should slow it down and play in the half court and play some defense because you knwo the Sun's can't but the Suns will push it and Dallas will fall into the trap because they have a lot of guys that like to run too. Problem is the Suns have too many guys that can hit three after three and Nash makes plays for everyone on his team.. I still take Dallas though because Dirk is the best player in the series IMO and will be huge in game 7. If Amare Stoudemire was healthy, I'd consider picking the Suns but he's not so there you have it.
