I hate to sound Bias, but it definitely is the Boston Celtics, they are the defending champs and they are on another huge winning streak and they seem to be unstoppable. People who say the Magic and Cleveland are the best team in the NBA seriously are smoking something. You can make a valid argument that the Lakers are the best, seeing as how the are smoking the competition in a tough Western Conference, but bottom line is, I really, truly feel that the Celtics are the best Team in the NBA. Correct me if I am wrong, but I really don't think that any team is better then the Celtics.

Record wise it's the Lakers. The Lakers also are looking real dangerous this year. If Bynam is healthy towards playoff times I wouldnt suprised seeing a rematch, of the Lakers, Celtics. Hell even if he is injured I think we'll see a rematch. Think it might be the Lakers year this year too.
I dont see Lebron getting it done in Cleveland, although at home they are so deadly this year.
Overall Cleveland Boston, LA are so above everyone else. Either one of these three should win the title.

Record wise? I hate to tell you, but the Celtics have the best record in the NBA. And playing more games definitely means they are better. So that part of the argument is out of the question. When people say that the Lakers lose because Bynum is out is complete bullshit. They still lost 9 games with Bynum in the lineup. So that is another thing that really ticks me off. But the Lakers are a very dangerous team, but anybody with Kobe and Pau, should win even without Bynum. BUt with Gasol as a softy, I don't know about there low post offense.

Well when I know my team is the best team in the NBA, I am going to fight for them. I have been a huge fan for 11 years, and after witnessing the horrid team for the two years before KG and Allen came, I like to boast about them. But you know, the Lakers aren't as dominant as people say they are. The Celtics have had a 19 game winning streak and now a 12 game winning streak. So for people to make an argument that they aren't the best team in the league, it really ticks me off. And for people to say that the ONLY reason we won the championship last year was because Bynum wasn't on the Lakers, that also pisses me off. I know I sound Biased but I am going to fight for my team. I might piss some of you off, but people saying that the Celtics aren't the best team in the league, its just why.

Lakers. They have the same team they had last season plus Bynum. The Celtics, while still being a top team lost Posey and they are now starting to feel his loss on the team. Hence why there are rumors about Marbury, and they will make a deal to sure up their young bench in the next 15 days. Based on who they get, I am willing to change my pick after the trade deadline. Regular season records dont mean much by the way, look at the Hawks with a losing record taking the Celtics to seven games. You can even branch out to the NFL and look at the Cardinals taking the Steelers to the final minutes of the Super Bowl. The playoffs are a whole new breed. The Celtics also have to worry about slacking off. They have been there once and won, the Lakers have been there and lost. They'll be coming into the playoffs focused on their goal.
Why, the C's only lost by a point in overtime. Doesn't make the Lakers the best.
We'll just have to wait and see for the NBA Finals rematch.
Until someone takes out Boston and they are within a game or two with Cleveland and LA, they should be considered the best based on the fact that they are all pretty close, but they got the title last year.
Well still, a wins a win. And the Lakers have beaten the Celtics twice this year and have one up on the Cavs. So now I will say that the Lakers are definitely, well not definitely, but right now, they seem to be playing like the best team. Now the Celtics are going to go on another 2-7 run and we will be kissing our NBA Championship goodbye.

Who cares though? The Celtics destroyed the Lakers in the finals last year.. two wins in the regular season isn't going to make up for that. It's nice, but both games were close and playing a seven game series is far different than playing a couple games which were separated by a month and a half.
Also, Bynum has not really proved anything in this league. I'm not saying he won't be missed, but there's zero reason for me to believe that he will solve the Lakers problems up front.
I think it's too hard to call right now between the Celtics, Lakers, Cavs, or even Spurs.
I'm eliminating the Magic from this discussion because the Nelson injury is a crucial blow.
