1) Detroit Lions - Matt Stafford, QB, Goergia
Depending on how the combine goes you could probably swap Mark Sanchez here, but the likely of a QB taken here is very very high. Not that I completly agree with the logic that new GM/Coach = New QB, certainly theres more pressing needs on this team that NEED to be addressed before a young guy like Stafford takes a snap under center.
2) St.Louis Rams - Eugene Monroe, OT, Virgina
Funny thing about the Rams, Marc Bulger gets hit to much.
Anything other then a Offensive linemen here would be a detriment to there offense as a whole. If Orlando Pace can stay healthy, Monroe would be a nice book end, more likely then not, Pace will end up missing time and Monroe can step right in at LT and play.
3) Kansas City Chiefs - Marc Sanchez, QB, USC
Not that I think Sanchez should go here, but I think much like the Lions and Stafford earlier, new GM and Coach will have a new man under center to be there poster boy. Poor Tyler Thigpen.
4) Seattle Seahawks - Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech
I had the Seahawks drafting Devin Thomas, which they didn't and boy did the age of there recievers show this year. Michael Crabtree is a legit number 1 option in any offense in the NFL, just imagine if Deion Branch could stay healthy, for one season with Crabtree and Hasselbeck.
5) Cleveland Browns - Aaron Curry, ILB/OLB, Wake Forrest
Pending on if Malcom Jenkins rips up the combine, I could see them giving him a nod to play in the state where he played his college ball. But until then, they need to go the ole BPA (Best Player Available) route.
6) Cincianti Bengals - Andre Smith, OT, Alabama
I'm guessing Carson will be back under center next season, I think they want to keep him there and not on the side lines.
7) Oakland Raiders - Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
Unless by some act of god Michael Crabtree falls this far, I don't know of many picks in the area that will be "Al Davis" picks with godly 40 times. Hopefully he settles for protecting the QB and furthering there run game...doubt it though.
8) Jacksonville Jaguars - Michael Oher, OT, Ole Miss
See pick #2, expect with a better QB being hit.
9) Green Bay Packers - Everette Brown, DE/OLB, Florida State
Just a play maker to fit the new 3-4 scheme in Green Bay
10) San Francisco 49ers - Larry English, OLB/DE, Northern Illinois
I don't even want to be near the 49ers war room if Everette goes one pick before them. This pick is a reach, but my god do they ever need some one to take over Manny Lawsons' spot at OLB.
11) Buffalo Bills - Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas
There was something off about the Bills pass rush last year, probably because there was none.
12) Denver Broncos - B.J Raji, NT, Boston College
At this point I pray to god that some one loves this poor kid enough to trade up where the Bills are and draft him.
Mike Nolan will be installing his 3-4 defense in Bronco Country and I can only assume that this is a no brainer. Raji dominated the senior bowl practices late in the week after being called out by Mayock and was nothing short of a monster at Boston College. THE NT prospect of the draft, and he'll be on the Broncos Frontline for a long time to come. Yay?
13) Washington Redskins - Eben Britton, OT, Arizona
A bit of a reach, but the Redskins need to upgrade the pass protection, especially considering the defensive front 7s they face inside the divsion.
14) New Orleans Saints - Vontae Davis, CB, Illinois
I actually LOVE Tracy Porter, but after he got hurt,(In a game where I thought he did a fantastic job covering Bernard Berrian) teams beat there secondary like a mule. Depth and a second starter to go along with Porter for years to come should help the cause.
15) Houston Texans - Duke Robinson, G, Oklahoma
One of the picks I'm real unsure about, but Duke fills a need at guard, even if its a reach. Hopefully Duke puts on a good combine and solidifys himself as Fringe Top 15 Worthy.
16) San Diego Chargers - Rey Maualuga, ILB, USC
I'd love to see the Chargers grab a tackle like Eric Britton, but the need for a real ILB to pair with Stephen Cooper is just as pressing. While Clary is barely servicable as a starter, Dobbins is more of a bandage then a real fix at ILB.
Lets just hope AJ Smith can work his magic and nab some big uglys on both sides of the ball to go with Rey.
17) New York Jets - Malcom Jenkins, CB, Ohio State
Did they Really Sign Ty Law to start on the other side of Revis? REALLY? Time to draft a CB me thinks.
18) Chicago Bears - Jermey Maclin, WR, Mizzou
Maclins YAC potential is crazy, and the Bears need all kinds of help at Wide out.
19) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Knowshon Moreno, RB, Georgia
I don't think the Bucs could pass up on Knowshon if he falls this far, Warren Dunn isn't getting any younger and who knows how long Caddy will be on the field in any game. Besides that Knowshon was the man in Goergia and I'm almost willing to bet Moreno is twice the pro Stafford will be.
20) Detroit Lions - William Beatty, OT, Connecticut
I'm not sure what Millen was thinking picking Gosder Cherilus where he did last year, but we can probably safely call him a bust at this point. The tackle situation is still a issue for the Lions and Beatty is Upgrade over any one they have on the roster playing either side of the guards.
21) Philadelphia Eagles - Alex Mack, C, California
A big lineman, what else would Andy Reid draft in the first round?
22) Minnesota Vikings - Josh Freeman, QB, Kansas State
If Alex Mack goes off the board, Freeman seems like the logical next choice to replace uber old man Gus Frerotte and not so uber younger guy Tavaris Jackson. I'm sure the scouts adore Freemans arm strength and hes got the NFL Size to go with it. Sure theres some questions about decision making but he'll get a look from any team looking for young QB in the first round.
23) New England Patriots - D.J. Moore, CB, Vanderbilt
Patriots need all kinds of help in the secondary, Ellis Hobbs is a scrub, Dhelta O'Neal is older scrub.
24) Atlanta Falcons - Brandon Pettigrew, TE, Oklahoma State
Another Weapon for Matty Ice, and crew.
25) Miami Dolphins - Hakeem Nicks, WR, North Carolina
Its amazing what Chad Pennington could do with what they had in Miami, He deserves a legit #1 Reciever for his efforts with Ted Ginn.
26) Baltimore Ravens - Percy Harvin, WR, Florida
Clayton came on pretty strong for Joe Flacco, and Derrick Mason is solid as always, but Masons getting old. Harvins a Florida WR, yes, but hes also possibly the fastest guy on any field he steps on. Considering the way Cam Cameron and John Harbaugh were able work that offense last year, I'm sure they'll find a way to make Harvin work.
27) Indianapolis Colts - Peria Jerry, DT, Ole Miss
Upgrading a defense that had all kinds of problems with Bob Sanders missing.
28) Philadelphia Eagles - Louis Delmas, FS, Western Michigan
Louis looked great at the Senior bowl, Brain Dawkins is getting up there in age and as much as I love Dawkins. The Eagles can afford to take a young safety and groom him at this point in the draft.
29) New York Giants - James Laurinaitis, ILB, Ohio State
How happy would Giants fans be if this guy fell to them? his Stocks taken quite a hit recently but hes still the second best LB in the draft and played hard in every game at Ohio State. Beanie Wells is also a option if they lose Brandon Jacobs to free agentcy.
30) Tennesse Titans - Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU
Monster is probably the best word to discribe Tyson Jackson, some team will reach for him. With Kearse lacking the ability to get younger, Titans seem like a good bet to pick him up.
31) Arizona Cardinals - LeSean McCoy, RB, Pitts
You probably didn't hear it hear first but LeSean McCoy is amazing, I'm expecting him to light up the combine and sneak his way above Beanie Wells. A perfect match to go with the Hightower in the backfield.
32) Pittsburgh Steelers - Aaron Maybin, DE/OLB, Penn State
BPA with most of the offensive linemen off the board.
