I don't ignore it though, I just see why it's happening and can understand it more. I see it as the thing i'd least be worried about amongst my friends. And I know some stupid people haha!
While I don't consider myself Straight Edge, simply because I don't necessarily agree with the exception of cigarettes. Nicky and I have talked about it several times over the culmination of boards we've been on together, and both agree that there should no no drugs, no alcohol and no promiscuous sexuality. Where I differ from Nicky, is that once again, I smoke cigarettes. I've never felt that it overshadowed any message I was trying to get across, or made me seem less professional in any way shape or form.
So, no, I'm not straight edge, but I share key fundamentals.
Also, I never got why you couldn't be considered straight edge if you made some mistakes and did drugs but your eyes were opened and stopped.

Smoking greatly shortens your life and you do become addicted which clouds your mind. It is also meant to be prosper yourself to the best of your content by not putting toxins into your body.
"If you're not now you never were" is more directed towards people who break edge and go "I use to be straight edge" you either are or you aren't. I do believe you can learn from trial and error. My girlfriend is straight edge but she has had some problems in the past. I still consider her edge as long as she is serious about it and know it is a lifelong commitment.

Yeah there are a lot of people, especially between the ages of 14-19, who are edge for a week because they read an interesting article on wiki and think it makes them cool, or their favorite HxC band made a new album and want to get rallied. A lot of people actually haven't studied Minor Threat or their message, but still wear their banner.

Im not offended. Just saying that I thought it was about someone who has been here awhile and decided to stay. But in reality, it's about a new guy who decided to stay, when he apparently just got here. Just saying, for a new mem introduction, the thread name is kinda misleading.
