Music Your Parents Like And Now You Quite Like Too
So just about every kid goes through this, when you are growing up you hate all the music your parents like however as you begin to get older, you yourself begin liking that music too.
For example, i never liked Johnny Cash and thought he was awful when i was young but now my music taste has matured somewhat i find Cash very enjoyable.
Also, i'm quite enjoying Jethro Tull at the minute who i thought were really bad and sounded like the music morris dancers danced to but now i appreciate it.
So how about you, which bands/singers do your parents like that you didn't like when you were younger but now do.

I honestly can't think of anything lol. It usually happens the other way round. My dad now likes Metallica, Iron Maiden, Dream Theater and others thanks to me and my brother.

I think the biggest artist that I turned to liking as I got older was Stevie Ray Vaughn. A lot of the other bands that my Dad like (mom doesn't really listen to music), I still can't get into.
And, there's no way in hell that my dad will ever listen/like the stuff I listen to!

I was named Matthew because of a John Denver song, and I quite like most of his music now, and my Dad used to always listen to The Carpenters when we went on holiday, and I quite like them now as well.

Most 70s/60s rock such as the Doors, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc. my parents grew up with and love them, and I love a lot of it too.

I use to be into my Dad's music, like Hendrix, The Doors, Beatles, Sabbath, all that stuff. But I kind of grew out of that and evolved into the music I listen to now. My Dad gets into some of my music. He enjoyed the last Atreyu album when I accidentally left it in his car. Just didn't like the last song on the album with the chorus being "So blow those fucking words out the back of your head".

I got my love for Dwight Yoakam from my dad (he doesn't listen to alot of country but he likes Dwight) and I have started to like Billy Ray Cyrus because of my mum.
