I was curious, what do some of the other people here think about them? I know a lot of people don't like them due to their humor or "immaturity", but I love 'em. Their early stuff is great, the last album was amazing, and everything in between was really good. I'm about half way through Sorry For Partyin' right now, and so far it's really, really good. I'm seeing them tomorrow night, and I'm psyched.
So yeah, what do y'all think of BFS?

Some of their stuff was good, but the new album just doesn't do it for me. A song titled "My Wena" that is supposedly just written about a dog is just stupid. I use to really enjoy their "I don't care attitude" but they're in their late 30s and still act as immature as they were in their 20s. There is a time where writing serious music wouldn't hurt their careers. I grew out of them. Their early stuff is easily the best because some of the songs are actually serious. But now it just seems more and more relevant that they don't care. They're making money and having fun, which is fine. But I like my music having serious lyrics or reasoning in the lyrics, especially in the lighter music I listen to.

I totally get where you're coming from. My Wena grew on me, but I agree, it is a bit rediculous, especially since they're better than that. I've been saying for awhile now that I'd love for them to put out a serious album, but that's also not really their deal. I really really loved The Great Burrito Extortion Case though, and with 5 songs left, I'd really liked most of Sorry For Partyin'.

Well yeah I'm not arguing their ability as a band. They have written some very great song and like in 8th grade I use to love them. I've just grown out of them, I've grown up and they still write their songs with my 8th grade mentality. But they're definitely still fun musicians. Hopefully the show you end up going to is a good time. I remember they played some local festival around here and didn't even get paid for it...which was nice of them.

I can't say I'm a fan of them. There are a couple of songs that I love like 1985, High School Never Ends, Almost and Come Back To Texas. Other than those, I don't like them that much.

I remember when back when I was in high school and I first heard 1985 and a couple of acquaintances I knew in my guitar class saw me watching a video of it and basically acted disgusted. Definitely a guilty pleasure band for me early on in their career but I just don't care for them anymore. Their old stuff was good but their new stuff doesn't do it for me. 'and tbh I will immediately be watching 1995 at the conclusion of this post.
"Springsteen, Madonna... way before Nirvana...there was U2 and Blondie and music still on MTV. Her two kids in high school, they tell her that she’s uncool cause she's still preoccupied with 19, 19, 1985."
