I was just noticing this as I bought a CD yesterday that was released on Victory Records. Although Victory may not be considered a major record company, it is a much larger independent record label. But in the first song off the CD the "f" word is said a good 10 times. The ending chorus is "Oh shit, what the fuck did I just do?"
Now I remember as a kid seeing records having a parental advisory sticker. I still occasionally see this sticker on a good majority of albums. But why doesn't it show up on releases such as the one I just purchased? Is it because it is a smaller record company that released it? Or is the parental advisory sticker just kind of a joke now?
Atreyu's last album was released on a major record company and it carried a parental advisory warning. Being a former product of Victory Records none of their previous albums were labeled as parental advisory. So is it more of a matter of who releases your CD these days? I just found that odd and interesting.

Yea i guess its just basically on the people releasing the album or singing the songs if people know they are going to curse and use vulgar language then they should already be aware of that.

If you want a clean CD, just buy if from Wal-Mart or K-Mart. That's all they sell.
Kmart sells both. Wal-Mart tries to sell all clean CDs.
Well I mean, I could probably go to Kmart and find that Emmure CD I bought, and it wouldn't be parental. Yet a kid could go and pick it up and get all the vulgarities right there. I don't know, just seems odd how some are and some aren't. Just thought the RIAA would be more strict on this kind of thing seeing as that is their only job.

I love buying CDs and Vinyls, though. I just love the feeling. I usually buy not so famous bands' albums, or major albums that are a necessity (like Death Magnetic). I guess no one honestly gives a shit anymore.
