I'm going to go with the epic saga from Rush known as '2112'. Just an epic track list filled with creative structure and lyrics, some of the most unbelievable musicianship you'd ever hear from an Alex Lifeson, Geddy Lee, and Neil Peart getting in their prime. "Lessons" the twenty minute journey that is the title track, and a Passage to Bangkok are songs I could listen to over and over again

Heaven and Hell (1980) Black Sabbath
My favorite band of all time and one of my top favorite Sabbath albums. Everything on this album is just perfect in every way, and I just love this album!

Very difficult question (obviously, that's the whole point) but I believe if I had to choose, I might go with Dream Theater's "Octavarium", which is just a brilliant album and also vary varied, which means I wouldn't get bored of it for a long time. It contains catchy, heavy parts, slow, emotional songs, and the epic title track which clocks in at 24mins and is pretty brilliant throughout.

Metallica - The Black Album
I enjoy every song on the CD without criticism. I want to keep myself jamming for years, listen to one of Metallica's best work. The lyrics are simple to understand, the songs are sometimes slow but great eventually, and it'll keep your adrenaline pumped.

I would have to say Blood Mountain by Mastodon. Its really not that Mastodon is my favorite band of all time, because theyre not. And this also isn't the greatest album of all time, but I just can't give this any criticism at all.
Re: If You Had To Listen To One Album For The Rest Of Your Life........
Anyone who isn't a Mastodon fan, will not get the album at all. You will fucking hate it. BUT! If you DO love Mastodon, this better be your top favorite album.
Bonus Fun Trivia Question: Why was Dream Theater's "Octavarium" titled so? (Be specific) Also, what makes this album just like all the others?
