Self explanatory from the title. What was the last concert you attended, and did you have a good time? Are the band you saw good live? Who was the support? How big is the venue? What was the atmosphere like etc.
The last concert I went to was Dimmu Borgir/Lamb of God at Manchester Academy 1 on Friday night. Its a medium sized, all standing venue. I imagine most of you know who Lamb of God are, but you may not know Dimmu. They are basically a Norwegian Black metal band who are pretty great.
Here's a vid for anyone who is into metal and wants to check them out...
They played that song on Friday too.
Anyway, the gig was great. Five Finger Death Punch were supporting but my friend only got here late and we missed them. We got there in time to see Dimmu Borgir come on and they were very good. Often, black metal doesn't really work that well live as it is all about the atmosphere, which works better on CD. Their new stuff is more accessible though and worked well live. Lamb Of God are not one of my absolute favorite bands but they were very good live and the crowd was really into it. A lot of circle pits and stuff but I don't go in for that silly stuff any more, I prefer to just watch the band.
I would give the concert 8/10.

I went to a Trans Siberian Orchestra show right after Christmas. It was pretty cool. Those guys take Christmas carols to a whole new level. They always have a really neat light show as well, which is fun to see in a big arena (there was something like 22,000 people there).
Then for new years day, me and a car full of friends went on a road trip to Colorado to the Red Rocks Amphitheater to see Sound Tribe Sector 9. If you're not familiar with the Red Rocks, it's basically a hollowed-out side of a mountain that they've turned into a concert venue:

(only the first pic is mine)
It's a somewhat legendary concert venue. Many live albums have been recorded there, as the structure provides great natural acoustics. And if you're not familiar with STS9, well, you don't know what you're missing. The show was amazing. It was so damn cold that I almost got frostbite, and it was a 6 hour drive (12 in total), but it was worth it.
Well obviously there are different levels of accessibility and some bands are never going to appeal to as many people as others. I can see why people don't like Dimmu, I just happen to like it.
