UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar's next opponent has been confirmed. He will be getting a rematch with Frank Mir sometime in 2009, who defeated him at UFC 81 on February 2, 2008 with a first-round submission. Frank Mir defeated Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at last night's UFC pay-per-view by TKO in Round 2 at 1:54.
Can Brock win this time? o.O

Answer: No. Mir is not God, but he's got the size to match up with Lesnar well. All he has to do is avoid Lesnar's hands, which he proved against Nog he's better in the standup game. And we all know this is a fight that Brock (yes, I said BROCK) does NOT want going to the ground. If it goes to the ground it enters Mir's world. Size and strength mean nothing when your arm is broken and the ref stops the fight because of it. And I believe that Mir could slap an armbar on Lesnar in the condition he's in now.

Should be a good rematch. I think Mir could pull out a win because he is ten times more experienced than Lesnar, but Lesnar is a powerhouse and if he catches Mir with a couple of those big fists it could be all over. Both men have to be careful going into this, should be an interesting match up to see the least.

If Mir trains and conditions himself like he did for his fight against Nog, he can definately defeat Lesnar. Lesnar may be a powerhouse but look at fights like Bob Sapp vs. Nog...

Machida successfully defending the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship with his face.
Mir's standup definitely looked much improved against Nog and he did work but I don't think he's going to be fast and agile enough to hang with Lesnar on the feet. Even if Mir has more technical striking now, if Lesnar just starts throwing and connects it could be good night for Mir.
Mir's best chance is off his back and Lesnar's probably goin to take him down there. Brock's jiu-jitsu is really elementary at this point, so I really think this is gonnabe a toss-up. It really depends on whether or not the fight stays standing and which Frank Mir decides to show up.
If the Frank Mir that fought Big Nog shows up to fight Lesnar, I think Lesnar might be in some serious trouble.
