Fightline.com has learned, from a source close to the UFC, that Tito Ortiz was indeed offered a new deal by the organization. However, the new deal was offered to Ortiz months ago, not days before the fight as Ortiz stated.
Our source informed Fightline.com that Lorenzo Fertitta did indeed speak with Ortiz about the deal days before the fight, but that no terms had changed from their original offer. Fertitta was simply trying to ascertain where Ortiz, who had not committed to or declined the original UFC offer, was at on the deal.
Sources have also indicated that the deal on the table is a four fight deal which includes a substantial pay increase including a higher percentage of the Pay-Per-View take.
Well if this is true and not just a bs rumour then isn't this exactly what Tito requested? If so then maybe that wasn't the final time we have seen Tito in the octagon after all.
