French striker Cheick Kongo will look to get back on his winning streak when he takes on UFC newcomer Dan Evensen. They will battle it out at UFC 87: ‘Seek and Destroy' to be held at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn., on August 9.
It was recently announced by Cheick Kongo on MySpace.com.
Kongo was beginning to emerge as one of the UFC's top heavyweight fighters until he suffered a split decision loss to Heath Herring at UFC 82. However, with the UFC's constant thinning of that division he could likely earn a title shot if he is able to string a few wins together.
Looking to make it 5 wins in a row will be Dan Evensen when he makes his octagon debut. Little is known about this Norwegian fighter but with 7 of his 10 wins coming by way of knockout it is obvious he has considerable striking capability. Currently Evensen is ranked #74 on the Heavyweight Top 100 list.
I bet I'm not alone in saying... who?

your def not alone, the man beat CroCop and toke a Motivated Heath Herring to the wire, Dana. I think this almost shows the lack of depth in the heavyweight divsion that was stacked around this time last year. Have him fight Werdum or something honestly
