I'm getting a little pissed off here people are claiming that he deserves a title shot, that he is a top p4p fighter overall that he is great.
Who has he beat?
BJ Penn at 50 pounds above his weight class
Rich Franklin at 205
Stephan Bonnar (who will be nothing more than a journeyman at 205)
and Soko who is still a very young newcomer.
Like even with a win over Tito he still hasn't beaten anyone current at 205 and yet people demand a title shot.
12-0 sounds nice...when it's against decent and relevant competition.

He's going to be real good and that's not just because I have him on my MMA team To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Suffy, 12-0 is 12-0 you beat whoever is put infront of you.
Bisping made a good point when he addressed McCarthy on saying his opponents were hand picked cans, and if so then wouldn't McCarthy also be one of those and he would be destroyed like the rest.

Yes 12-0 is impressive but when 12-0 is against either cans, inexperienced fighters, or fighters fighting above their weight class is loses some allure.

No I agree whenever you haven't lost it's somewhat impressive.
But I disagree with people stating that Lyoto deserves a title shot, is a great fighter. He is unbeaten but against who. Name 1 fighter at his current weight class that is a legit threat to Quinton.
In fact I'll list all the fighter he's faced;
Kengo Watanabe (who)
Stephan Bonnar (He's no threat)
Rich Franklin (Franklin isn't a threat at MW or LHW)
Michael Macdonald (who)
Sam Greco (who)
BJ Penn (at 50 pounds above his natural weight class, real accomplishment)
Dimitri Wanderley (who)
Vernon White (his record of 25-32-2 speaks for itself)
Sam Hoger (the guy has never beaten any top 30 fighter)
David Heath (his biggest win is against Sean Salmon)
Kazuhiro Nakamura (only has beat Kevin Randlemen)
and Soko (very inexperienced)

I will repeat myself again, he has beaten whoever was placed in front of him... 12 times, the matter of who the fighters are is irrelevant, who the hell had Serra beaten before he beat GSP and took the title? That is the fine example that who you have beaten before the shot means absolutely fuck all.

It matters completely who he has faced, it's like Kimbo, Kimbo is 2-0 and he's completely dominated both his opponents...now lets look at who his opponents were and that compelte domination doesn't seem so great.

I agree with Suffy. An undefeated 12-0 means something... but it would mean a lot more if there was more merit behind it. He doesn't deserve a title shot yet. Though, if he does beat Ortiz I think he is one fight away, pending his opponent after him.

Machida successfully defending the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship with his face.
If Machida beats Tito I think he could face he winner of Liddell VS. Evans for a title shot. It would be a pretty big win for Machida if he beats Tito solely based on Tito's name value and his ability to draw as a result of that.
