Boxing: Ricky in rematch talks

Ricky Hatton has revealed he has already opened talks for a rematch with Floyd Mayweather.

The Pretty Boy's promoters, Golden Boy, have hinted that he would be willing to come to England for a return fight next Spring.

Hatton has to overcome Juan Lazcano and then Paulie Malignaggi in New York first and had remained tight-lipped over the prospect of taking on Mayweather for a second time.

But he has confirmed that there have been initial discussions regarding a return in 2009, although he did suggest that he would prefer to meet Mayweather at light-welterweight.

"We've been talking to the camp already, but obviously it's all about me rebuilding and redeeming myself," he told Soccer AM.
I am fucking pumped I would love to see this rematch and would love oh so much more if it was in England, this time the tables would be turned and even though the crowd reaction would still be in the favour of Hatton but this time, the ref will potentially be English.

Clinton Woods wants an all-British battle with Joe Calzaghe because "it is the fight everybody wants".

But Woods is determined the prospective domestic super-fight will not distract him from his IBF light-heavyweight title defence against Antonio Tarver.

Woods faces Tarver in Tampa on Saturday before unbeaten Calzaghe clashes with Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas next week.

Woods said: "It is no secret that if I beat Tarver and Joe beats Hopkins, it is the fight everybody wants."

Promoters of both boxers are determined to strike a deal for a multi-million pound autumn clash that could attract 50,000 fight fans to Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

WBO king Calzaghe has reigned over the super-middleweight division for 10 years but has long dreamed of being a two-weight world champion.
I totally agree with Woods even though coming from him it is really big headed, should Calzaghe beat Hopkins next week and he beat Tarver tonight that this is definitely a huge fight that people want to see and another factor is that should Woods beat Tarver that he is showing that he has the ability to be a potential threat to Calzaghe.

What is Hatton thinking? If Big Show can't beat Mayweather what chance does he have?

Haha I don't think that Mayweather will be using a steel chair or brass knucks in this fight though Tom.

Clinton Woods may quit boxing after losing his IBF light-heavyweight title in desperately disappointing fashion to home favourite Antonio Tarver in Tampa.

The Sheffield man was easily outpointed 116-112, 117-111, 119-109 and failed to drain Tarver's questionable stamina.

"I fought the best light-heavyweight in the world," said the 35-year-old.

"I'm happy with my career but I don't know if I'll stop. I've done everything I wanted to do... maybe I have something left."

The defeat now looks to have scuppered any chance of a British super-fight between Woods and Joe Calzaghe later in the year.

Woods came into the fight insisting he was fitter and hungrier than ever but never got going and cut a dejected figure at the final bell after losing a contest to a 39-year-old fighter who is clearly past his best.

The night had started badly for the Briton and got progressively worse as Tarver, despite clearly gasping for breath between rounds, was allowed to dictate the fight and cruise home to victory.

"I'll go home, see my wife and play with my kids and make the decision [on my future]," he said.

"I'm just a skinny boy from Sheffield and I never dreamed of things like this. All credit to Tarver, he did a fantastic job."
There you go.

Yes, it's hot. Yes it's Megan Fox kissing another woman from Jennifer's Body. Yes, it's hot... owait, I already said that. Yes, I'm aware this makes me sound like a total lesbian. But this scene? UNF.
