WEC lightweight Rich Crunkilton (16-2) and undefeated Donald Cerrone (7-0) will meet at a June 1 World Extreme Cagefighting event taking place at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, Calif.

The bout was confirmed in a recent story on WEC.tv, the organization's official website.

The June 1 event features a title shot between featherweight champ Urijah Faber and Jen Pulver and airs live on Versus.

Crunkilton, a one-time UFC fighter, has spent half of his career with the WEC, where he owns an 8-1 mark. His only loss was to then-champ "Razor" Rob McCullough at WEC 30. In fact, it's his only loss in his past eight fights.

The 28-year-old American Kickboxing Academy fighter now meets 25-year-old Cerreone, who is undefeated in 23 professional Muay Thai fights and eight MMA bouts.

He last competed and made his WEC debut at WEC 30, and though he submitted Kenneth Alexander with a quick triangle choke, Cerrone was suspended eight months (and the fight ruled a no-contest) after he tested positive for a banned diuretic.

When he returns in June, Cerrone will go for his ninth consecutive submission stoppage. Seven of his eight fights were finished via triangle choke (and the other via armbar).

Now I really hate people who feel the need to cheat to win, if your not confident in yourself then your not in the right place. Crunkilton has an awesome record with his only 2 losses coming to class fighters, McCullough and Franca and I hope that he can continue on over this cheat.
