Well, I made a post in the thread announcing McCully VS. Mir, but it really brought up some interesting prospects about the UFC's Heavyweight division. Anyway, what matches would you like to see? How would Randy and Fedor play into all of this? Anyway, here's a portion of my other post to get things started.
Quote:
The heavyweight division is really up in the air. If the UFC can get Randy back and sign Fedor things would definitely get interesting. But for the time being, the heavyweight division needs some strong contenders and Mir is the top dog and next in line.
Unless the UFC decides to do winner of Werdum/Vera VS. winner of Mir/McCully. But I'd must rather see Mir take on Big Nog and have the winner of Werdum/Vera face Heath Herring. And there needs to be a Kongo/Gonzaga match.
I am a Vera fan but I would really enjoy him getting his ass whooped against Werdum, now hear me out, I wouldn't relish to sight of it but knowing that Vera promised, should he get his ass whooped he would move down and that is exactly what I want to see, he would be more of a force in the LHW division, he certainly showed that he could not hang with the strength of a bigger guy against Sylvia and he wouldn't get that in LHW.

Vera also broke his hand in that fight, if I'm not mistaken. He didn't really get his ass whooped by Sylvia since Timmeh mainly jabbed and grabbed. Vera said it himself that he didn't get his ass whooped and that's why he's staying at Heavyweight.
If Vera gets smashed by Werdum and loses, Vera should definitely drop down in weight and he'll be a BEAST at Light Heavyweight. If he beats Werdum, which I think will happen, he moves up the ranks in a bid to fight for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Either way, it's a win-win situation as a Vera fan.
Oh I know he didn't get his ass beat badly against Timothy... but he didn't hang with him, it wasn't spectacular by Tim but come on... when is it ever? I simply said that he didn't hang with him, he was controlled and I beleive it may have been the same deal even with both hands healthy. Which is why I want him to lose to Werdum so he can come back stronger.

Oh yeah, he definitely didn't hang with Timmeh and it was definitely a disappointing performance. Although, I would like to see Vera beat Werdum, I wouldn't mind seeing Vera lose if that means he drops down to LHW. But then again, the Heavyweight division does need all the talent it can get.
I suppose that is true but I firmly beleive that Vera isn't cut for the HW division, I would like to see UFC bring in some more heavies or... my strong opinion that UFC should have had a heavyweight TUF by now, this is the 7th and not one has had HW yet.

Actually, the TUF where Rashan Evans one was a Heavyweight TUF. But it was split up with another weight class. But obviously, Rashad dropped weight and there's no real TUF Heavyweight contender. It definitely would be nice to see a Heavyweight exclusive TUF, since they're only doing one weight class per season now.
If Fedor gets signed and Randy comes back, it would be awesome to see a Team Russia VS. Team America type deal cause Fedor wants a lot of his Red Devil camp or whatever they're called to get signed to UFC contracts if he gets signed as well. But if that doesn't happen, if Mir beats McCully it would be nice to see Team Mir VS. Team Big Nog.
