The WEC have announced yet another mouth watering card, headlined by an interesting big name clash.
One is a legend in the sport of mixed martial arts; the other is an established star on his way to greatness. But when MMA pioneer Jens Pulver challenges WEC Featherweight Champion Urijah Faber on Sunday June 1st at ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California, only one of these 145-pound fighters will emerge with the victory in the most important featherweight bout of all-time.
The World Extreme Cagefighting organization have announced WEC: Faber vs. Pulver, a card which not only features the epic clash between Faber and Pulver, but a WEC bantamweight title fight between Mexican warriors Miguel Torres and Manny Tapia, and the highly anticipated debut of Mark Munoz.
In the main event, one of the MMA’s best pound for pound, Urijah Faber, defends his WEC Featherweight title against UFC and PRIDE veteran Jens "Little Evil" Pulver.
With technique, tenacity, and charisma, Sacramento’s own Urijah Faber, has proven time and time again why he is considered one of the best fighters in MMA today. Faber captured the WEC title in March of 2006 with a decisive second round stoppage of Cole Escovedo. Since then, he has continued to dominate the division, defending his crown with first round wins over Joe Pearson, Dominic Cruz, and Chance Farrar. His most recent victory came against Jeff Curran, where he displayed top notch submissions, choking Curran out in the second round. But on June 1, he will return home to fight for the first time in close to two years when he battles his toughest opponent yet in former UFC Lightweight Champion Jens Pulver.
This is definitely a mouth watering fight, I cannot wait to see this, Pulver could very well be Faber's biggest test of his career, of course he hasn't had that from any featherweights around, but Pulver is a natural lightweight and that could be the factor.

Jens is definitely more suited for the Featherweight division and probably is more of a natural FW than anything. I believe Jens even walks around at less than 155. He didn't have to do any weight cutting for his last fight with BJ and I think actually weighed into the upper 140s.
Considering that and the damage he did in the Lightweight Division, it's a very scary prospect for Faber. But I still believe Urijah has him. They way BJ put a clinic on Jens before, I just don't think Pulver has "it" anymore.
I simply want to see someone give Faber a test, I would be happier to see Pulver win this because he is in fact one of my favourite fighters but for him to give Faber a long 5 round test would be very good to see.

Pulver does have a lot of tools to beat Urijah, former wrestling background, KO power and he's a little bit heavier than Urijah.
But personally I see this being a lot like the Hendo-Silva fight, someone who has the perfect style to beat his opponent but his opponent is just on another level.
