It is well known that UFC had ridiculous contracts.
I am blaming them for having rigid contracts and not negotiating at all.
My brother is writing an article in Law School for law review about MMA and in particular UFC contracts and how ridiculous they are.

I wouldn't because I think he should fight a couple more times before facing Big Nog.. but hey.. I can't hate.
Nobody will ever call Lesnar a dodger. Maybe that's what Lemonz wants or likes.. people who don't take on all comers.. People who dodge fights.. or maybe people who sign with second rate promotions overseas..
I don't see how I've been hating since I've been praising him since the Herring fight. Hes just a douche bag as a PERSON and that has no real impact on how I view him as a fighter. Maybe you should check your facts. I believe my exact view on the Couture fight before hand was "Lesnar may be a bitch, but hes the strongest bitch ever".
The fact that hes being praised as a "Era" 3 or 4 fights in to his career is a joke, even if hes beaten Randy and Herring. Hes got a long way to go before hes up there with a Hughes, Liddell, Ortiz,Silva or even Fedor. People who dominate over periods of time against all comers. Hes been 3 people and has clear holes in his sub defense.
Lets have him defend the title once before passing judgement on this "Era"
they aren't great.. but they also aren't the worst.. they are much better off then they used to be. Recent fighters have made a ton..
I am not just talking about the pay.
For one, they wouldn't let Fedor compete in Sambo competitions which is like the National Sport of Russia.
That is just one of the ridiculous parts of the contract he was offered. I am not going to get into all again.

No doubt that calling it the Brock Lesnar "era" may be a little too premature. After all, this is MMA and not wrestling where when a guy wins the World Title, he is deemed the man and can claim to an era. However, Brock Lesnar may be inexperienced in MMA, only 4 fights after all, but he has shown vast improvement in his game. Take in his shear size and add in improving abilities and I think you are going to see a dominant fighter that has every right to stake claim to his own era or dynasty. My only fear is that he may get so good that he is literally unbeatable and nobody wants to watch him fight anymore because he had no competition. For Brock, though, that would be a good problem to have.

The word "era" is ridiculous in any reference to an MMA fighter. Honestly, who is the last fighter you can remember dominating over what would be considered an 'era'..
Their shelf life is usually fairly short compared to a boxer...
How the hell did Brock Lesnar get a title shot after 3 fights?
I suspect it was done to lure in people like me.......
I have seen VERY little MMA, but I was sure as shit not going to miss this fight and was very much looking forward to it. I left that show thinking "Damn, I need to watch more MMA, that was pretty badass"
Because I knew Brock had a limited MMA career, but when they announced his record of 2-1 I was like "2-1??!?! What the fuck?" I have just never heard of ANYONE getting a title shot in any sport after 3 matches.
Overall I was impressed by Lesnar. I could see how he has some pretty decent holes in his game, but I also imagine he can make up for them with his brute force and sheer determination.
But I am a MMA n00b, so please feel free to poke holes in many of my statements.
I dont care how old Randy is and I dont care if he was off for a year, beating Randy Couture is a always big deal. Now with that said, I still dont think Brock was that impressive. I really thought that Lesnar was a really bad match up for Randy, but that Randy would still come out on top. I have to give respect where its due. Good job by Brock. He still overhyped imo, but but the potential is there for him to be really good in this sport.
As far as Fedor not signing for the UFC, Dana was completely at fault. The contract he offered Fedor was embarrassing (he didnt want Fedor to fight in Sambo tourneys, the pay was very low and there was a clause in the contract that said that if Fedor lost a fight, Dana could rip up the contract...WTF is that).
