Joe Silva is the man that does the fight matching in the UFC. Now, what about if you were Joe Silva and had at your disposal every fighter in the world, which fight would you arrange?
This is what I'd like to see:
Fedor Emelianenko vs Randy Couture
This is a dream fight for all MMA fans. Fedor is the King and Randy is the man who people keep underestimating and always comes up surprising people. I think Fedor would be the favourite in this fight, but Couture would make it interesting. Fedor wins by decision.
Anderson Silva vs Chuck Lidell
This fight should happen at 205 of course. I would have preferred to see Rampage here instead Lidell, but we all know what happened there. As good as Silva is, I could see Lidell knocking him out. This wouldnt go the distance imo. If anyone can beat Silva, its Lidell. Still, Lidell is the underdog here, so... A.Silva by KO in the third round.
Cung Le vs Rich Franklin
Cung Le is awesome. If you've never watched one of his fights, do it right now. Rich Franklin is also amazing and before Silva came along, he was untouchable. This would go the distance and it could go either way. If Franklin wants to win this fight, he'd have to stay away from Cung leg's kicks and maybe use his reach to keep Cung away. I also think he should go for takedowns. His ground and pound is excellent. Franklin by the decision.
Wanderley Silva vs Forrest Griffin
These guys are both cardio machines. They also have great chins. This would be a bloodfest. I have no clue who would win this one, but I'll go with Forrest just because he's in his prime right now. If this was the Silva of 4 years ago, he would have been my pick, but he is not the fighter he was in Pride anymore. Forrest by decision.
BJ Penn vs Kenny Florian BJ Penn by Rear Naked Choke in the 3rd Round.
Kimbo Slice vs Brock Lesnar Brock by decision.
Josh Barnett vs Andrei Arvloski Josh Barnet by KO in the 3rd round.
George St Pierre vs Patrick Cote GSP by ref stoppage in the 2nd round.
Nate Diaz vs Clay Guida The Carpenter by ground n pound in the 2nd round.

Sorry...but Anderson Silva would completely and totally dominate Chuck Lidell.
It wouldn't even be close. Chuck has no business going up against a Muay Thai fighter as good as Anderson Silva. My guess is that it would end in the first round with a flurry of knees to the face via a Muay Thai clinch.

Fair enough, cant argue with you. I still think Lidell would put up a good fight. He hits hard and he is difficult to get close too.

These are two really stupid fights for a few reasons, one why not do GSP vs Penn 2, and if not you do realize GSP vs Cote is impossible and no not because of weight class, but because of friendship. ANd if you had every fighter in the world why in god's name would you pick Florian to fight BJ why not Shinya Aoki, or JZ, or Eddie Alvarez or Gomi again or even Kid.
And Couture would not last with Fedor no way in hell it would be over just as fast as Fedor/Sylvia.

The reason I would have GSP vs Cote its because they are friends. It would be interesting. Plus I think Cote could give him a fight.

I guess you're one of those guys who underestimates Couture...listen, dont get me wrong, I am the biggest Fedor fan, I was watching Pride when no one was, he is the best and has been for years, but in mma there are no unbeatables. Everyone is good and everyone can beat anyone. Hell, you believe that a lightweight can beat an heavyweight and all of a sudden Couture wouldnt last 31 seconds against Fedor?
