Affliction just announced today that Andre Arlovski and Ben Rothwell will fight each other at Affliction: Banned on July 19.
The “Banned” fight card will be the first show promoted by Affliction and has one of the best fight cards of the year. Rothwell still is under contract with Adrenaline MMA but is fighting with permission on the Affliction card. Since the inaugural Adrenaline event is just a month earlier, he will not be available for the Adrenaline show.
Here is the current fight card for the Affliction: Banned event:
Fedor Emelianenko vs Tim Sylvia
Josh Barnett vs Pedro Rizzo
Ben Rothwell vs Andre Arlovski
Gary Goodridge vs Paul Buentello
Matt Lindland vs Fabio Negao
Renato Sobral vs Mike Whitehead
Savant Young vs Mark Hominick
Brett Cooper vs Mike Pyle
Ray Lamaza vs Justin Levens
JJ Ambrose vs Patrick Speight
Some great fights there. I'm looking forward to it.

Pretty fuckin pumped for this show. But they should have skipped the middle man and had Andrei and Barnett fight. It would have much more significance to the overall Heavyweight division and Rothwell vs Rizzo would have made more sense based on where they are in their careers

I agree, a Andrei/Josh fight would have been awesome, but as long as they fight, it's fine with me.
Fedor is by far my fave fighter, but I don't think this fight will be an easy one for him. He hasn't fought someone with the credentials of Big Sylvia in awhile and he does cut easily. If Sylvia can cut him and keep him away with his long reach, he could actually win this fight. It's a long shot, but in mma, never say never.
Also, I think Dana White must be worried, that's why he is giving us the Anderson Silva fight for free on the same night. July 19 is gonna be Heaven for mma fans.

Do you have a reason not to give The Half Boy your vote for the Hall of Fame?
Tonight one of the best ppv in mma history takes place. these are the 2 fights I'm looking forward the most.
Fedor Emelianenko vs Tim Sylvia:
Ok, everyone and their mother is putting their money on The Emperor, Im one of them as well. But in mma, never say never, plus Tim Sylvia is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion and he can fight...plus he's double Fedor' size and thats a huge advantage. Now, also rumours have it that Fedor is actually injured, so thats another advantage Sylvia has. Still, I think Fedor will take this, but not by submission or KO, but by decision. Tim is tough and when he is the underdog he always fights his best. This wont be so one sided like people think.
Josh Barnett vs Pedro Rizzo:
This is another fight Im looking forward to. Barnett is always been one of my faves and it's been awhile since I have seen him fight. The last time I saw him in the ring was against Nogueira in Pride. In this fight Barnett is the favorite even tho Rizzo has beaten him before. But that was then and this is now and even tho Rizzo is tough with a record few can match (hes beaten Barnett, Arlovski, Severn, Coleman), Barnett is just better. His chin is solid and is a master at submitting people. He is also a great striker and amazing on the floor. He is the total package and that's why he is always been rated in the top 5.
