Ok, last night was one of the best night of fighting I've watched in a long a$$ time. Both cards had great fights and both main events didnt dissapoint.


Cons:

I hated the production of the event. I dont know if this happened only to us, but the PPV kept skipping. It was really frustrating. It did this the all F@#$%N night.

The commentary was also horrible imo. Mauro Ranallo should have been there with maybe Couture.

The ring has a nice visual, but the cage is better I think. People kept going through and holding the ropes way too often.

Pros:

Every fight on the card was entertaining.

I love how they featured Heavyweights. Heavyweights at the end of the day are the best fighters. The UFC hardly puts on HW bouts, but the last 3 fights on this cards were just that and they didnt dissapoint.

Barnett, Arlovski and Fedor. There is a reason why they are 3 of the top rated Superstars in MMA today. They are just amazing. Dana White is a fool for not signing Fedor. Without Fedor this PPV would have never taken place. Good for us the fans, bad for the UFC.

I disagree completely with the heavyweights are the best fighters.

How often do you see heavyweights with the flexibility of a Aoki who can pull off a fucken gogoplata from mount?

Heavyweights can't pull that shit off, and a lot of times you get really boring heavyweight fighters because they gas so easily at times.

Where as lightweights and welterweights just push like mad crazy paces which offer exciting fights.

But yea..w00t Fedor!

I thought it was a great event.

I like how they got the matches on fairly quickly after each other which is normally one of my gripes with the UFC is that they spend far too much time between fights.

Megadeath were great, don't know why they were there but it was good to see.

And damn, Frank Trigg is bloody everywhere

Yeah, I guess, but at the end of the day, any great HW fighter can beat any great WW or LW fighter and thats a fact.

I believe MMA is a bit more advanced now with more people testing the waters.. more competition..

I'm not trying to knock Gracie though, he was amazing.

I didn't see the Affliction event.. but I did see the Fedor and Sylvia fight and all I can do is LOL.. Big Tim got wrecked.. he crawled up real quick and fetal position and shit.. it was kinda sad.

Royce Gracie? Man, back then he was the only who knew whatta hell he was doing, the rest were just street brawler from the street.

The truth is, Gracie in his prime, would get demolished by any fighters from his weightclass todayn nevermind Heavyweights.

No Welterweight, no matter how good he is, can beat a decent heavyweight today.

No shit they have at least 40 pounds on them, but that doesn't mean they are better technically it just means the genes in their family line has made them bigger.

And Royce beat Ken Shamrock (not a streefighter), Art Jimmerson a proffesional boxer who weights 200 pounds, and Gerard Gordeau who was a savate practioner.

And that was only UFC 1.
