I just wanted to know what everyone thinks about this guy. Bas Rutten is his trainer and says he is a serious fighter. I understand not listening to Kimbo but Bas has more than proven himself, so if he vouches for him I'd haveto say we have atleast a decent guy here. 2-0 with one TKO and one submission. I'm along for the ride.
I am a big fan of Kimbo and I think he can go a long way in MMA.
We will just have to wait and see how he does.

I really don't understand all the bandwagoning on people who are 2-0 in MMA, Lesnar is far from complete and he has 10 times what Kimbo has.
Kimbo hasn't faced anyone of decent skill and is a glorified street fighter, if he proves himself I'll be a fan. If he turns out to be a lesser version of Soko and Alexander, I won't think much of him.

Expect it to be a while, Gary Shaw (pretty sure thats his name) owner of Elite xc (or whatever hte fuck the company is called) has a boxer promoter mentality, which is feed your top stars cans to improve their record, so expect Cans for Kimbo until he's like 10-0.

thats what you have to do. look at lesnar, he lost his second fight, if he loses another one he is basically done
So that brings up the question what's better a BJ Penn record something like 12-7 who has lost to big names like GSP, Hughes, Machida, but also beaten big names like Hughes, Stevenson, Gomi.
Or someone like Fedor these days who is just padding his record.

Well.. Fedor beat some real competition in PRIDE by I see what you're saying. He's taking on nobodies these days. I think he's a pussy to be honest with you.
As for Kimbo, I don't think highly of him. I pretty much agree with what ToL stated. Lesnar is the real guy to watch in my estimation.

Penn is 12-4-1. Blade, TOL thinks Lesnar suck and will not be good from what I gather.
Me I don't think Kimbo is a great fighter and don't know if he ever will be, I do think he has more desire than most and good stand up. All I'm saying is I enjoy watching him fight and look forward to seeing how he progesses. Honestly, the guys 34 so he needs to start fighting bigger names after Tank.
Is he fighting Tank Abbot? I was just going to compare Kimbo to Tank because thats who he reminds me of, he will always have a chance to win a fight but will most likely get dominated by more well rounded opponents. Either way I will watch!!
