I don't blame Fedor at all. Dana White presented him with a contract that he could not sign. He could not compete in Sambo competitions in Russia under UFC's contract offer, as long as he was champ he could not leave so if he would have to lose to get out of his contract....etc.

Ridiculous demands. It was the UFC that messed up, not Fedor.

Re: Kimbo Slice

Fedor also asked Dana to bring in most members of his fight team and was offering him like 2 million a fight.

Why would you let your top guy compete in anything outside your organization, if he gets injured there, you're fucked. Injuries happen in sports yes, but you can limit them if you don't let your fighters compete in other organizations besides your own.

Dana was willing to give him quite a bit, Fedor was asking for quite a bit more.

Re: Kimbo Slice

Yeah, from what I understand, if he would have accepted he would have been the highest paid MMA fighter of all-time by far. He chose to fight chumps.

Re: Kimbo Slice

I don't think Lesnar has much in the way of talent as a MMA fighter at the moment Hammer, I never said he wouldn't be much in MMA (as much as I hate the way he just thinks hes worth 250,000$ out of the gate). He has promise and potential but hes to Raw to even deserve a spot in the UFC. Thats just my take on Lesnar once he gets more training under his belt I can remove the "Hes a freaking newb" tag from him.

Kimbo has a lot more to prove in a lesser company since hes basicly a freak show the likes of Butterbean when it comes to MMA.

I think Kimbo has got alot more potential than you give him credit for and just has not had the chance to show it. I see where your coming from though.

Fedor was wanting to compete in Sambo which is like the national sport of Russia. It is not a full contact sport really and not many injuries result from it. Fedor has been doing Sambo much longer than MMA.

The UFC is notorius for providing unreasonable contracts and that can by highlighted by several recent big names that have had problems with them: Randy Couture, Andrei Arlovski, & Tito Ortiz to name a few.

Fedor and the UFC both had some unreasonable demands but I don't think Fedor can be blamed fully.

Re: Kimbo Slice

It's just a protection issue, you wouldn't let BJ Penn compete in BJJ tournies because what if by the small chance he tears his knee tendons completely, his mma career is done, all the money Dana can make off him is gone.

The same goes with the Sambo tournaments in Russia, what if by some small chance he tears his knee out, he's done and there goes the greatest fighter ever. Now by eliminating the Sambo from the equation it makes it so there is one less variable that can cause an injury.

Dana was giving a lot, Fedor just wanted a lot more.

Re: Kimbo Slice

Tito Ortiz is the whinyest dude ever and no longer even close to a top name imo. He is also a punk, leaving his family for Jenna Jameson? Andrei fell off and Couture (while one of my favorites) complained about a small amount of money when he is one of the highest paid. A bonus that was not for him to decide if he got or not.
