Can Brock Lesnar overwhelm Frank Mir with his strength in his UFC debut or will Frank Mir catch Brock Lesnar with a submission?
Will Antonio "Big Nog" Nogueira be able to catch Tim Sylvia in a submission or will Tim Sylvia rely on his size to once again get by?
Discuss.

I saw the Brock Lesnar training video.. the guy is a beast and obviously a more than capable grappler. How that will translate to UFC, I'm not sure, but it has me interested to say the least. Frank Mir is no bitch.
I don't see Sylvia KOing Nog, Fedor and Cro Cop couldn't do it, no one has since he was run over by a truck when he was a child.
I am really looking forward to Mir/Lesnar, Mir looked a bit more like his old self in that last fight, I think Brock just needs to be insanely careful.

The only way I see Sylvia coming out with a victory against Big Nog is to play it safe and keep him at a distance with his reach advantage. So if Sylvia wins it will be by decision.
I think Brock Lesnar will overwhelm Frank Mir and get him on the ground rather quickly. That is what he did in his first match and I think he will try it again. The only concern I have is that Mir is very good on the ground. He could get Lesnar in arm bar fast.

That will most likely be Sylvia's plan. But I see Nog pushing him to do more.
Yeah, I don't see Nog just letting Sylvia win it like that.
I think Nog will be able to take it to the ground and that will be bad news for Slyvia. I think he has lost nearly every fight when it goes to the ground....except the Monson one.

Isn't that what Sylvia always does Lol
But as for Lesnar this is a terrible match up for him, absolutely terrible. Mir is so comfortable off his back getting taking down won't phase him at all he'll most likely hope for it as there is no way in 2 short years of training Brock is anywhere near a decent BJJ practionier. Brock should stand up and see where his standup is at because Mir's biggest weakness is standing so we can answer whether or not Brock has decent standup and has Mir improved his as well.

I am really looking forward to Lesnar Mir, It's perfect match making. No real striking game (Mir can leg kick, but not well, Brock has power but can't time it) it's the age old american collegite wrestling (top based) against BJJ based submissions from the bottom. I personally see brocks superior strength and conditioning holding Mir down for so long (prob 1.5 rounds) that it comes to the point he can just go to work pounding on him. The equalizer is if Brock postures up to soon he's gonna end up arm-barred/triangled. What a match, I can't wait!!!
We don't really know if Brock can strike or not, he should probably stand up for a while against Mir and see how his striking compares to him because Mir is a pretty terrible striker so this could turn out to be a standup fight because if Brock is better at standing why bother going to the ground where he can easily get subbed.
