Re: UFC 77: Hostile Territory Discussion

I am expecting Franking to destroy Silva this time around. It is in his hometown and laid a beat down on his last opponent. He seems to have his will to fight back. I say Franklin wins by TKO dues to strikes.

Tim Sylvia vs. Brandon Vera - I expect this one to be really boring. Sylvia will play it safe as usual doing just enough to get the decision victory.

Stephan Bonnar vs. Eric Schafer - I don't know anything about Schafer but I am looking forward to see what Bonnar can do in his return match. I say Bonnar takes it by decision.

Jason MacDonald vs. Yushin Okami - I have saw some Okami matches when he was in PRIDE. He is pretty impressive. I say Okami by submission.

Re: UFC 77: Hostile Territory Discussion

I really like Rich, but I don’t fancy his chances going into this one. Silva looks like an animal from the clips I saw on Countdown to UFC 77. I see Silva taking it in round 4 if not round in 3.

Not too bothered about the Sylvia vs. Vera, but I read somewhere that the winner of this match will take on Big Nog for the vacant Heavyweight Title. So there’s big incentive for both fighters to go out there and win this one. For arguments sake, I’ll pick Sylvia (decision), but I’d rather Vera won.

Nice to see Bonner back in the UFC, hopefully he puts all his past trouble behind him and puts up a good show.

This PPV doesn’t excite me too much, I’m only really interested in the Middleweight Title match. Hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Re: UFC 77: Hostile Territory Discussion

What an awesome display of sportsmanship from both men after the fight! Anderson looked amazing (saw the part where he stopped parrying and was just dipping from the Franklin punches? Un-fucking-believable!!), but it was how both men behaved before and after the match that makes this memorable to me. These guys are truly role models, and UFC is really lucky to have so many well spoken and well behaved guys as its spokesmen.

Too bad for fellow San Diegan Brandon Vera in his loss to Silvia, I was rooting for him all the way. Silvia is just too damn big!! I don't understand where his hate for Cheick Kongo came from... that was pretty random haha. I think Silvia's got bigger fishes to fry.

So Lesnar is in UFC now... interesting. Couture-Lesnar would have been interesting, but it's obviously too early for Lesnar to get a title shot. If they can sign him, I'd pay to see a Lesnar-Josh Barnette fight as well. Not a bad time to be an MMA fan at all!

Watching Vera fight was a huge disapointment for me. I knew he was gonna lose, but I expected him to @ least try. The second the bell rang, he tried to hug Slyvia, so he cant blame that on the broken hand. Sylvia actually seemed like the one trying to push the pace. All the hype...Vera needs to drop to LHW.
