Vera. I think if Tim comes out hungry like he was before winning the title it will be a great fight. But I think if Vera will chop him down with leg kicks then work himself inside Tim's reach and finish in the 2nd or 3rd round.

I am afraid Sylvia's size may be too much for Vera to handle.
Just like the third Arlovsky/Sylvia meeting, I expect this one to be slow and boring with Sylvia getting the decision victory.

I'm really on the fence with this one right now, i havent fully decided. Vera is great striker with impressive speed, but he's SMALL. He really shouldnt even be fighting in the heavyweight division. The weight he fights at is about the same weight that Rich Franklin walks around at, and Rich is only 1 inch shorter. If Vera gets the win, it will still be a while before his title shot, because UFC already announced the winner of Nog vs Kongo will fight Couture next. With Sylvia still having to cut weight to make 265, he is a massive force to deal with. But his chin is a big question as well, getting rocked hard in 3 of his last 4 fights. If Vera can find a way to get inside and land some bombs, he might be able to pull it off. But if a hungry Tim Sylvia comes out, I think Vera will realize he's in the wrong weight class(which i believe he is, win or lose)

I've been re-analyzing this fight, and I'm really leaning towards Sylvia. Vera has never fought a fighter who is taller than he is. So really, he's unproven against anyone over 6'3. Sylvia is also the much more experienced fighter. Vera has a whole lot of hype surrounding him, so we'll have to see if he can live up to the expectations. He's favored to win, but I'm still undecided about it. He's very inexperienced, and has only had wins over smaller named fighters, with the exception of Frank Mir, who is still a shadow of his former self. I don't particularly like Tim Sylvia, and find his style very boring usually, and would like an exciting fighter like Vera to move up the rankings, but I'd much prefer seeing him in the already stacked LHW division, where he would probably match up even better.
