Brief History
Serra has spent the vast amount of his career fighting in the octagon, with only 3 fights outside of the UFC, this allows him to obtain the title of UFC veteran. He has fought many big names such as Karo Parisyan and BJ Penn, however he didn't achieve success in the UFC untill April 2007.
His most recent fight in UFC was this success, as he knocked off the highly regarded Georges St. Pierre to pick up his first championship by gaining the UFC Welterweight Title. It was a win that shocked the whole MMA world, everyone except Serra himself it seems, as he promised victory before the fight an delivered

Yeah well in my opinion, there is too much of a distance between winning the title and defending it for Serra, I mean Sherk only just made his first defence but it was because of injury, Serra has no excuse...
