Yeah it does, Lesnar got more on his debut than Rampage did winning the title.

Lesnar is much more famous, that is the only reason he can demand that much money.

There is a commentary on Lesnar at Wrestling Observer. They point out that it might be best for Lesnar to stay away from UFC for now and concentrate on K1 and Japan so he can improve his skills. If he were in UFC, they would want to almost right away put him in big name matches where he wouldn't stand a chance due to his inexperience (especially for the amount of money he would demand).

I see where your coming from, he was already famous and they knew that he would draw a big crowd for his debut but they shouldn't have paid him that much for his debut, maybe like half that.

I think its good for the sport if they can pull this kind of payout for fighters, It just makes it look that much more legit. NBA players at the lowest level get a base of 400k and it only goes up from there, Boxers can pull millions in there pay outs and MMA fighters at the top of there divsion only gets base NBA pay why?

The only thing keeping MMA from being accepted by a lot of boxers is the pay, if they can afford this kind of pay out, they should do it.
