Because Pride has turned out to be just a complete mess, moreso then it previously seemed. I loved Pride but I say cut the losses, grab all the top talent for the UFC and then simply use them to break the UFC huge into the Japanese market.

It would have been great if Pride could continue, but at this point it would only be a shell of its former greatness.
