Armando Garcia, the executive officer of the California State Athletic Commission, said Sanchez paid a $500 fine and served a three-month suspension, so he has been cleared to fight Josh Koscheck at UFC 69 on April 7 in Houston.â€

This is the first Iâ€™m hearing of the result and Iâ€™m pretty sure we â€” or anyone else for that matter â€” would have picked up on the news if it were made public sooner.

Of course, Sanchez is a rising star in the division â€” having him get busted for pot and be suspended for three months is not the ideal image the UFC wants to project.

(The punishment also sounds like a slap on the wrist â€” three months is normal for a fighter between fights â€¦ and $500?).

But, sweeping this under the carpet doesnâ€™t seem to smart, either. Not when heâ€™s about to be the marquee attraction at a major UFC event in a few weeks.

Talk about a distraction â€¦ or dare I say it â€¦ a nightmare?

How in jesus's name did this one slip by main stream MMA press? well...atleast it proves Diego's more of a fruit then i suspected <_<

Seemingly Every smokes up these days First Diaz...now Diego...and thats really about it <_< but, yoou know Weed slows his reaction time and his still illegal lol

lol it would only slow his reaction time if he smoked right before hand. Even then it just depends on how he handles it. Weed can make you focus very hard on one thing, maybe his is fighting.

Dude, I'm smoking weed for my next fight. These guys are able to KO their opponents in less than 2 minutes on weed.
