The UFC claim that “a United Kingdom invasion is imminent”.
Although no official date has been set for UFC 70, it is generally believed that the show will take place on April 28th 2007 at the Manchester Evening News Arena.
This would come as tragic timing for the UK’s best established events. As it stands UFC 70 would happen a week after Cage Rage, and on the same day as Cage Warriors plan to host their own events.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be holding a media day to trumpet their return to British shores. The UFC will hold a meet-and-greet dinner where the press can meet UFC President Dana White, Light-Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell, Heavyweight Title contender and MMA legend Randy Couture along with the UFC’s new golden boy, TUF3 winner Michael "The Count" Bisping.
The assembled crowd from the UFC will be on hand for a question and answer session, plus it is where Zuffa will unveil their master plan for taking over the UK Mixed martial Arts scene.
The UFC-UK media day will be held at the UlFC Training Centre in Las Vegas on Wednesday January 17th and starts at 6:00pm PT.
