Dan "Hollywood" Henderson

Brief History
Coming from an all american background starting wrestling at the age of 5 Henderson would compete all the way through high school and make the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Greco-Roman wrestling teams. Shortly after in 1997 Henderson began training in MMA on invite from friend Randy Couture. During that same year Henderson would compete in his very first match during the 1997 Brazil Open. Henderson would go on to win the match by TKO but the fans who were not used to seeing fights won by stoppage would riot and throw garbage in to the cage as a result of it.

A year in to his training Henderson would compete at the UFC 17 Tournament and defeat Allen Goes and Then UFC stand out Carlos Newton before leaving for PRIDE. Henderson would debut in PRIDE agaisnt Wanderlei Silva a man many people considered to be Henderson's toughest challenge yet. Henderson would loss a hard fought unanimous decision to Wanderlei.

After almost 5 years in PRIDE Henderson would become the first Welterweight champion ever in PRIDE after defeating Murilo Bustamnate in the finals of the Welterweight Tournament.

2 years later, Dan Henderson at 36 years old, an age where most MMA fighters would consider retiring has reached the top of the MMA World becoming the first man ever to hold titles in two diffrent weight classes at once and the second man to hold two titles in two diffrent weight classes (a task only reached by Team Quest team mate Randy Couture) by defeating Wanderlei Silva in a rematch via KO. Its been a long road to cementing his place in MMA History but Henderson has left a mark dispite being the underdog and smaller man in alot of his fights in PRIDE.
