King Mo vs. Mike Whitehead had a quick, sweet knockout. Still don't buy into the King Mo hype, though. Whitehead just chokes every time he has a big fight. Let me see King Mo against someone decent who's not like that, and then maybe he'll win me over
Jacare was fucking AWESOME. The dude dominated Lindland in every aspect. Here's hoping he fights again real soon, against a tougher opponent. Shit, Jacare/Mayem 3 would be real nice, in fact.
And the two main events are FOTY candidates. Melendez vs. Thomson was fucking wild, and Smith's comeback against Cung Le was one of the most remarkable accomplishments I've ever witnessed. Awesome stuff. For those who haven't seen either fight, do yourself a favor and do so right now.
I just watched the Cung Le fight on youtube and I still can't believe he lost that fight. He demolished Smith. I dont think he got hit once all through the fight...one punch and just like that it was over. I could feel something weird was gonna happen tho.
King Mo is one cocky s.o.b but damn if he didn't come through. He looked pretty good but like stated, it's Whitehead. 'But still, he's only been doing MMA for what, 2 years? For how green he is, he is incredibly impressive.
Jacare put on an amazing performance, I knew he'd sub Lindland if he went to the ground. I'd like to see him fight Shields for the title, I don't see how Jake could hang with him though without laying on him for 5 rounds.
Melendez/Thomson was an awesome fight, probably the best I've seen all year and we've had some great fights in 2009. Every round was exciting, big hits, lots of fast paced flurries. Can't wait for the inevitable rubber match.
Le/Smith was alright, Le dominated the fight until Smith finally showed some balls and went after Le. Le looked pretty tired and just couldn't withstand the big strikes. Too bad Smith couldn't hear Frank giving him his key to victory the whole fight while announcing or he might of finished it in the second.
